BOWRAL CLASSIC 2018 WELCOME Welcome to the 2018 Bowral Cycling Classic. It is hard to believe that we are up to the third edition in 2018! For this year we are even more excited to offer up a new course. Riders will ride some of the original course from the first two years but the majority of the event will be new and improved. We are also very excited to see so many faces who have lined up each year since we started back in 2016, thank you for your support, it really does mean a lot to the event. Thank you also to the familiar faces who have volunteered and those sponsors who have supported the event since the first edition. Plus, a thank you to Wingecarribee Shire Council for their continued support. Our first two editions were both sold out and we look forward to 2018 being another one. 2018 will have four courses. We are doing this as we had so many ‘requests and suggestions’ after the 2017 event. We are hoping that we can now offer something for everyone. Within this guide you will find information on all four courses to help you prepare for the ride. Once all riders have conquered the course they will arrive at the Eridge Park Event Village. Here they have the chance to do a victory lap of the velodrome and then riders can grab their complimentary drink, sit back on the beanbags, enjoy a massage and purchase some food from local producers and restaurants. We want to continue to make this the safest event possible. Please remember to ride responsibly, this is a ride not a race. Always ride within your limits and respect the road rules. Say “hello” to other riders while out on course and let them know your passing by saying “rider right” – it makes a huge difference. Once again, thank you also to all the riders, sponsors, volunteers and spectators who attended the 2016 and 2017 event. It will be great to see so many familiar faces on Bong Bong Street in 2018. Ride safe and we look forward to welcoming you as you cross the finish line at the Bowral Velodrome. Will Levy Ride Director 2
