Graduate Taught courses, such as Graduate Diplomas, MA, MSc and ME, are usually taken by students who hold an undergraduate degree. The majority of the course will involve taught modules. Research courses, such as Master by Research or PhD, involve students carrying their own research and academic study under the one-to-one guidance of their academic supervisor.
