22nd ~ 25th July 2019 Dear Varndean Families I am delighted to be able to launch our Enrichment Week programme, commencing 22nd July and finishing on 25th July. This is always a highlight of the year for students and we hope to build on previous successes to deliver a fantastic week. We are proud to be offering a wide range of exciting activities that will enable students to learn, have fun and challenge themselves over an extended period of time. Within this booklet you will find details of all the courses being offered this year, including the year group they are on offer to and their costs. The PP cost is also shown, this is the cost for students who receive Pupil Premium funding support. Families can check if they are eligible for PP support with school bases. Please read this booklet together with your child and examine the course details carefully. This will help to ensure your child selects possible options that are appropriate to their interests and in turn make the enrichment week as enjoyable and successful as possible for them and the other students involved. We also ask that students consider the areas of personal skills they want to develop when selecting their possible options. It is very important that your child selects options that you have already approved with them at home to avoid further disappointment down the line. Next steps; • Review the activities with your child online (hard copies are available in school if required) • Enrichment 2019 survey will be shared with students on 7th January, this is the booking system and requires students to select 3 possible activities • Google survey closes at 9:15am on 14th January • Confirmations of activities allocated will be sent out after determining best fit for all students • First payments are due by February 28th. Thank you for your support with this - we sincerely hope everyone has a fantastic and memorable experience. Kind regards, Tim Clarke Curriculum Development Manager. 3
