The award 2021 recognizes attorneys whose practice spanned fifty years or more and who adhere to the highest principles and traditions of the legal profession and service to the public. a a AWA R D A L L A N DUBO IS San Antonio - Sustaining Life Fellow RECIPIENTS A llan is the oldest of nine siblings raised in the military family of Col. Keith and Lavira DuBois. In June 1967, he married Pam, graduated from UT Austin, and received a Regular Army Commission. Upon attaining his J.D. from UT Law School, Captain DuBois served as an appellate defense counsel and branch chief, representing convicted soldiers in appeals, earning The Meritorious Service Medal. Honorably discharged in 1974, he practiced with “Lang, Ladon, Green, Coghlan & Fisher” for 25 years as a civil trial attorney, primarily in tort and business litigation. He is now a sole practitioner, still actively engaged in trial work and enjoying serving as a credentialed mediator. Allan is a proud member of ABOTA; also recognized for 35 years as an AV rated Preeminent attorney. He is a former President of the State Bar of Texas, San Antonio Bar Association, Trustee of the Texas Bar Foundation, and Past Chair of the Texas Lawyers Assistance Committee. Allan was recognized with a “Ralph Mock Award” for peer assistance with Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers. He volunteers with Texas Lawyers for Texas Veterans; and is currently the Chair-Elect of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics.
