We have included activities to link with these as much possible in the slides below, to continue your child's learning whilst they are at home. These are always broken up with lots of free-flow play, with opportunities to move, create and explore- do try to avoid extended periods sitting down at home too! Please move through the different activities at your own pace :)

These all contain some of the Phase 5 alternative spellings we have learnt so far. The sounds are hiding on this page! Extra challenge: Can you write a silly sentence containing all three words?
Year 1 – Phonics Sentence Work Write a sentence to match this picture. Try to remember to use spaces and a full stop. Can you write another sentence about what happened next?
Check your writing! Have you remembered… • Capital letter at the start • Finger spaces • Listen to the sounds in each word • Did you use any tricky words? • Hold your pencil carefully • Full stop at the end of each sentence
What to do if… If your child is finding it hard to remember a sound, see if you can think of some games to play using that sound. You could... ▪ Hide words containing the sound around your house. ▪ Write the sound on a sticky label and get your child to wear it! Keep asking them what sound it is. ▪ Display the sound everywhere around your house and keep pointing it out to your child. ▪ Play a game on 'Phonics Play' eg. 'Buried Treasure' and use words which focus on that sound. https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/buried-treasure
