Habitat trees will be retained in accordance with VicForests HCV management procedures and VicForests Harvest Retention Systems unless deemed to be unsafe.
Where safe to do so, any Individual HBT 1 trees identified during operations are to be retained and an additional 4 recruitment trees left in close proximity. Non-merchantable
trees will also be retained where safe to do so.
Where HBT1s are not present, HBT2s and HBT3s will be retained to consider habitat linkages and connectivity in the harvested area.

Hollow-bearing trees (live and dead) and areas that contain species-specific habitat (eg. yellow-bellied glider feed trees, potential frog breeding areas), are identified, they will
be prioritised for retention.

All HCVs identified through desktop and field assessments will be mapped and marked in the field. Where field marking is not possible due to safety reasons, georeferenced
maps containing all the protection requirements will be loaded on to contractor electronic
