An ingenious mystery about crime and punishment
After a long hiatus, Charlotte Schneidmann returns to service on the police force. The life-threatening injury
she suffered on her last case has left its mark, but that hasn’t changed anything. Even now, Charlotte would
like nothing better than to go out on investigations with her old team led by Peter Käfer. For the time being,
however, she has to content herself with desk duty.
In the office, she meets Katrin Ortrup, whose little son was kidnapped years ago but then freed by Charlotte
