LOCATION
The site is located in Kilmarnock, a popular commuter town
which is situated 20 miles to the south west of Glasgow City
Centre and lies 17 miles to the north of Ayrshire’s principal
town of Ayr. Kilmarnock is Ayrshire’s second largest town,
with a population of circa 47,000 residents and forms the
western section of Scotland’s ‘Central Belt’.

The site is located to the north east of Kilmarnock,
immediately to the west of the B7038 / Glasgow Road and is
well placed for connections to Scotland’s motorway network,
with Junction 8 of the M77 lying 2 miles to the north east of
the site at Fenwick. The nearest train station is situated in
the town centre, 1.5 miles to the south and provides regular
services to Glasgow Central, Carlisle and Newcastle. Regular
bus services are also provided in the immediate vicinity on

Kilmarnock Town Centre provides a wide range of community
amenities including supermarkets, retail and leisure uses.
The nearest primary schools, Mount Carmel Catholic Primary
School and Onthank Primary School are a 15 minute walk
to the south west. St Joseph’s Academy and Kilmarnock

Academy lie 2 and 3 miles respectively to the south east of

Kilmarnock is also home to Rugby Park, the home of
Kilmarnock Football Club whilst Dean Castle Country Park is

Hospital is one of the major employers in the area, located
to the west of the settlement. Ayrshire is also one of the key
regions in Scotland for tourism due to its association with

Reference: 19/0582/PP). There are currently no active
planning applications on Site B.
