ABOUT MTAA-15 The 15th International Conference on Modern Trends in Activation Analysis (MTAA-15) is being organized by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, India in associationwith International Committee on Activation Analysis (ICAA) & Indian Association of Nuclear Chemists & Allied Scientists (IANCAS) during November 17-22, 2019 at the DAE Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094. The conference will be co-sponsored by Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The conference will cover the recent developments of the activation analysis technique using neutrons (conventional and k0-based NAA and PGNAA and FNAA), charged particles (CPAA) and photons (PAA), and Thin Layer Activation Analysis (TLA).Scope includes applications of activation analysis to various fields like biology, geology, material science, (bio)medical sciences, nanosciences, energy sciences, food and nutrition, forensic sciences, environmental sciences and reference materials. Focus will be given on topics like modernization and improvement of activation analysis techniques, gamma-ray spectrometry, detectors and instrumentation, facilities like research reactors and accelerators, and QA/QC in measurements. Special attention will be given to chemistry and applications of radioisotopes (activation products) obtained from reactors and accelerators for health care, industry, agriculture and research. Scope also includes other radioanalytical techniques like XRF, ion beam analysis (PIXE/PIGE/NRA) and solid state nuclear track detector (SSNTD). Technical programs in the conference will also provide a platform for the young researchers as well as PhD students to interact with scientists from abroad and India engaged in research in the areas of activation analysis.This conference will bring together a panel of highly-accomplished experts and the presentations will encompass basic studies and applications as well as address topics of novel methods. During the conference period, discussions will focus on the recent advances, difficulties, and breakthroughs in the field of Activation Analysis. The conference will feature a plenary/keynote talks, invited talks/oral presentations and poster presenttaions in various technical sessions. Best oral & poster presentations will be selected for awards. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION Abstracts of one page (about 250 words) including text, table, Figure and references are invited on the above topics. The abstract template and guidelines can be downloaded from http://www.barc.gov.in/symposium/mtaa-15. The abstract in MS Word file (docx) should be submitted by conference email ( mtaa15barc@gmail.com) only by June 15, 2019. AUTHORS PLEASE NOTE 1. Abstracts based on original unpublished work will be accepted for presentation. 2. The abstract in MS Word file should be submitted via the conference email only. 3. The abstract template can be downloaded fromhttp://www.barc.gov.in/symposium/mtaa-15. 4. Abstracts should be categorized (A to M) as per the titles given under SCOPE of MTAA-15. However, depending on the referee’s comments, the category might be changed 5. E-mail of the corresponding author should be given and presenting author should be underlined. JRNC SPECIAL ISSUE OF MTAA-15 Authors of selected and presented abstracts (as per the reviewers’ comments/recommendations) will be contacted for submission of their full papers in the MTAA-15Special Issue of the Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry (JRNC).

It is thefinancial capital of India and houses Indian film industry. Mumbai city is well connected to the rest of the worldby many international airlines and other parts of India by international as well as domestic airlines. Foreign Participants travelling by air will arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja International Airport (BOM, Terminal 2/T2); some may also arrive at the domestic airport Santacruz. People coming to Mumbai by train can alight at Mumbai CST, Dadar, Kurla, Mumbai Central, Bandra or Panvel Terminus. The venue of the Symposium is the DAE Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai-400094. Anushaktinagar is located in the north-east part of Mumbai. This is a residential colony for the staff members of DAE organizations including BARC and is surrounded by beautiful hills and gardens. Railway stations are within 10-20 km from the Venue. Anushaktinagar is less than 25 kms from the Domestic and international (Terminal 2) airports. Prepaid and App based taxies (Ola, Uber, Meru, Cool Cab, pre-paid taxi) are available at the airports and atmost railway stations. Those travelling by local trains should alight at Mankhurd Station (East) on the harbor line, which is ~2 kms from the venue(Anushaktinagar). Many buses run by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) come to the Anushaktinagar Bus Depot, near to & next to Chembur/Deonar. The climate of Mumbai hot during summer and pleasant during winter. November to February is pleasant with temperature generally ranging between18° and 25°C. Mumbai is usually sunny throughout the year except the rainy season during July-October. INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN DELEGATES Please send the scanned copy of the pages 1 and 2 of your passport showing your photograph and passport details and completed Annexure I and II (Excel file from webpage) via email to mtaa15barc@gmail.com along with the abstract submission and latest by June 15, 2019. The information details are required to take necessary permission of your attendance from BARC as well as the Government of India and for obtaining conference visa to India. ACCOMMODATION Accommodation for foreign delegates and those from India will be arranged in specific hotels (nearer to the venue) in Navi Mumbai/Mumbai. Delegates will be able to book directly their accommodation and pay directly to the hotels using credit cards. Air conditioned DAE/BARC Guest House (at or near to the conference venue) accommodation (with limited amenities and no Wi-Fi) will also be provided upon request and also on payment basis. Wi-Fi facility will be provided at the Conference venue to all participants. Details will be posted in due course of time. TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS It is expected that the participants will make their own travel arrangements from & to Airport / Railway stations or Residence to the conference venue/temporary residence. In special cases (for foreign delegates), local travel from airports to hotel and return will be arranged by the hotel or by the host institute (on payment basis). The host institute will also organize bus transport for foreign participants to and from the hotel and venue.
