Number of Overs per Bowler There are 5 overs to be bowled per innings. A bowler shall not bowl more than 1 over per inning. No Balls The No Ball rule in this tournament is a little different than that of the original rule. If the Front Foot of the bowler touches any line of the bowling crease, the umpire can call that ball a no ball. The bowling crease is designed as a one side open rectangular box ( 3 sided rectangle). The Bowler should not touch his front foot on any side of the bowling crease. Obviously, if the bowler overshoots the bowling crease its considered a No ball directly. Line No balls are awarded 1 run to the batting team along with a free hit. For the free hit all rules apply. Scoring Runs *Please see the Attached Court in the Website for better understanding* Boundary Nets The Boundary Nets are located in the bowlers end. This is the only net which is used to score boundaries. The runs scored on hitting this net is 4 and 6. If the ball after getting hit by the batsman hits the boundary net indirectly (i.e pitching on the floor before hitting the net or after touching a player), the team and the player is awarded 4 runs. If the ball after getting hit by the batsman hits the boundary net directly the team and the player is awarded 6 runs. If the ball hits the ceiling of the court and then hits the boundary net, it will be counted as a deadball, and the ball will be rebowled. Side Nets The Side Nets also have runs associated with them! This may get confusing but listen up! Upon Direct Hit of Ball: If the batsman hits the ball directly on the side nets, the team is awarded 2 runs, and the batsmen is allowed to also have additional runs by running between the wickets. For example, if the batsman hits the ball directly on the side net and takes 1 run (by running) he and the team is awarded 3 runs in total for doing so.
Upon Indirect Hit of Ball: If the batsman hits the ball indirectly on the side nets, the team is awarded 0 runs, and the batsmen has to also make runs by running between the wickets, to gain runs on that shot, and to not have a dot ball. For example, if the batsman hits the ball indirectly (by pitching on the floor or upon contact from a fielder) on the side net and takes 1 run (by running) he and the team is awarded only 1 run in total for doing so. The fielding team cannot get the batsman out by catching the ball after being hit directly on the side net. Back Nets This net is behind the wicket keeper and carries no runs. The batsmen have to run between the wickets to score runs for the team. The keeper cannot get the batsman out if the ball hits the net directly and if caught by the keeper. Super Over If a match is tied, the final result is decided by Super over. The team that bats second gets to bat first in the super over. Mankanding Mankanding is allowed in this tournament. Final Message The above mentioned rules and regulations are just so that tournament has certain boundaries in order to justify the rightful winner of any match and even the tournament. Moreover, it also helps in avoiding disputes amongst team members and makes the gam friendly and fun. Have fun. Play Hard. Be Safe! Cheers and Good Luck Shockers!
