HISTORY OF MotoGP TM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MotoGPTM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. THE PINNACLE OF MOTORCYCLE RACING. Where legends are born: MotoGP is, without any doubt, the pinnacle of international motorcycle racing. Starting off in 1949, it is also the oldest of all World Champion- ships. Today, World Championship titles are awarded in three categories: the elite MotoGP class, Moto2 and Moto3.
