Contents Everyone could be the one who uses law to save lives Our internationally renowned research is driven by demands for social justice. It includes working with leading NGOs such as Doctors without Borders and Women’s Aid; advising the United Nations on human rights abuses and monitoring the migrant rescue boats in the Mediterranean. Recently, research was undertaken by Queen Mary’s International State Crime Initiative (ISCI) whose output has been used to inform the findings of the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar. ISCI’s research reports revealed that the Myanmar/Burma state were engaging in genocidal practices against the Rohingya, leading to ISCI researchers warning the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office of a highly likely escalation to genocidal state-led violence. Could you be the one to transform lives around the globe? 2 law.qmul.ac.uk

The trips to the Inner Temple, the Royal Courts of Justice and a top law firm were incredibly exciting and informative. Shadowing trainees in the work placement gave me an insight in how it would be working as a lawyer. The various lessons in CV writing, personal statements, public speaking and effective study methods instilled confidence in me and helped support me through my A-level work.
