Dear Volunteer, You Make a Difference! Luck of the Draw Written By: Deana Wright This was her first job after graduating college, and her responsibilities included recruiting future students from all the high schools on Long Island. She called North Port, New York her home for four years before returning to Montgomery to resume her post graduate studies at Auburn University’s Montgomery campus. At that time, she took a job at a publishing company as an editor of a cookbook. Later, Trish decided to get her realtor’s license. That decision led Trish to a career as a Real Estate Broker for thirteen years. It was at that point, Trish decided once again to take her career in a different direction. Her next move was to go from Real Estate Agent to Travel Agent. Through this career change she enjoyed helping others realize their travel dreams all the while indulging in a few of her own. Of all the amazing places she has been to, Trish will tell you Budapest is the most beautiful city she has ever visited. From Our Kitchen To Yours Stuffed Pepper Soup Enjoy this delicious recipe to try at home from the kitchen of the Fayette Senior Services’ family! Ingredients • 1 pound ground beef • 1 small onion, diced • 1 medium bell pepper, diced • 1 medium red pepper, diced • 1 (29 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce • 1 (32 oz) box chicken stock • 2 cups more of chicken stock • 1 cup white rice • Salt and pepper to taste Directions • In a large stock pot, brown ground beef • Add diced onions and peppers and cook until the onions are translucent, not letting it brown • Add in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, broth, rice and salt and pepper (to taste) • Cover and simmer for 30-45 minutes until the rice is cooked and peppers are tender Photo by Marco Verch via Flickr Enjoy Join us in the Ultimate Cafe in Fayetteville! Rules, Regulations & Cancellation Policies Register early! Many of our classes are extremely popular and fill up quickly! All classes have a class-size limit that varies with each class. All classes – free or fee-based – require registration unless otherwise noted. Any applicable fees must be paid at the time of registration, or you are not considered registered for the class. REGISTRATION: Please stop by the Fayetteville or Peachtree City location or call the Center receptionist to register for classes. All fees are payable in advance – cash, check, or credit card. CANCELLATIONS: Fayette Senior Services reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient registration or at the instructor’s request. If cancellation is necessary, anyone already registered will be notified and receive a full credit to their account. Please note that some classes have specific registration deadlines. WAITING LIST: All classes, activities, trips, and special events are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If a class or activity is full, you may be placed on a waiting list. REFUNDS: Refunds will be issued if registration is cancelled by the participant up to 5 working days prior to the start date. Any event costs incurred will be deducted from the requested refund in addition to a 10% administration fee. No refunds awarded after that deadline. Refunds will be issued in the form of an FSS credit towards future program registration or membership dues. CLASSROOM PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: Participants must be mobile as well as physically, mentally, and medically able to participate without disruption in any class or activity.
