ENNIS TOWN CENTRE PUBLIC REALM REGENERATION Public Information Evening Ennis Public Realm Regeneration Project B comprises: Bank Place, High Street, O'Connell Square, O'Connell Street, Cathedral Plaza, Old Barrack Street and Barrack Square. The scheme will substantially improve pedestrian accessibility in the Town Centre through widened footways and shared surface treatments, as well as providing up-graded civic spaces and enhanced amenity with high quality paving, seating, tree and shrub planting, street lighting and signage. This follows on from the successful recent completion of Public Realm Regeneration Project A (Parnell Street and The Laneways) and together the schemes will result in a significant enhancement of the town for the benefit of traders, visitors and the local community. Advance construction works by Irish Water, involving the replacement of water mains and upgrading of ESB underground cables, are scheduled to start in May 2022. The Project B construction works will follow thereafter. The works will be carried out in phases in order to reduce disruption during construction, and pedestrian access will be maintained throughout. The appointed Contractor will prepare a Construction Management Plan at the outset, detailing the sequencing of the works, traffic management and arrangements for bin collection, deliveries and emergency vehicle access, etc. A Communications Strategy will also be prepared to deal with ongoing liaison with all relevant parties throughout the construction phase. The Project Team comprises: · Clare County Council · Tom McNamara & Partners (Project Managers) · Nicholas de Jong Associates (Urban Design) · Malachy Walsh and Partners (Engineering) We thank you for your assistance and look forward to working with you on the completion of this exciting project for the revitalisation of Ennis Town Centre.
