Recent market research* has pointed out that 74% of existing brands are entire- ly superfluous when it concerns the client. At the end of the day, people choose brands that make a difference an that instill confidence. How can a brand be meaningful? Its impact on our personal and collective well-being plays an important role. A brand must also have an educational, infor- mative and inspiring role. More than ever, ecological impact and an environmental awareness are indispensable. When asked why one brand is preferred over another, a strong substantial message is key in many answers. The top 30 of meaningful brands includes labels such as Google, PayPal, Nivea, Lego, Nike, Apple, Kellogg’s, Disney en Visa. Coincidentally, brands that know how to communicate clearly and to-the-point. It is not only social responsibility that plays a part when it talking about qual- ity. Only 10 year ago Steve Jobs, cofounder of Apple, said that “Design is not just what it looks like, design is how it works”. Today it is no longer sufficient to create a good-looking, well-performing product. Brands have to know what their clients care about. A product has to be genuine, preferably positive and off course useful. It has to make life easier, simpler or more valuable, not only when it come to society, family and work but also in terms of healthcare, wellbeing or financial strength. In short, we are increasingly on the lookout for added value and quality. Is the Biennale Interieur a meaningful brand? Is the Biennale Interieur a brand at all? And if it is, how can it survive as an event in a supersaturated market? The Biennale Interieur has been bringing talent and established brands togeth- er for years, in order to create a space for meeting, reflection and appreciation in addition to the business aspect. INTERIEUR 2018 is also looking for meaningful an- swers in terms of living, working and relaxing and this in a new formula. For five days, the 26th Interior Biennale will set up a curated and selected range of companies and talent that make their own substantive statement. In a rapidly changing world, the Biennale Interieur wants to be a platform where the search for meaning is also given a concrete form. The use of new, environ- mentally friendly materials is encouraged. Companies that provide meaningful ideas and smart solutions for a better living environment receive a central place. And the young generation that is changing the world of today and tomorrow in their own way are encouraged to fully develop and present their ideas. 1968 – ... This year marks the 50th edition of the Biennale Interieur. The first edition in 1968 was entirely rooted in the reigning ideas of that time: challenging tradition, looking for innovation and taking a stand. Founded in 1967, the aim of the biennale was to put contemporary design and interior innovations on display the map. This would also be shown to the general public and not only to professionals, as was the cus- tom at other major fairs at the time. Design in the context of the interior was new in an time when ‘design’ was still perceived cold, elitist and at odds with the idea of ‘comfortable living’. This new initiative could be linked to the motives and ideals behind the student and worker uprisings in the late sixties in France, Europe and later in the US. The founding members of the Biennale Interieur dreamed of creating a place where the prevailing ideas about what a furniture fair should be were not valid. Whereas other fairs brought a mix of old, new, kitsch and design, the Biennale Interieur resolutely opted for a contemporary and creative form of interior design. The first edition in 1968 was an instant and unexpected success. This alternative approach was continued throughout different levels. In addition to the furniture expo in the Kortrijk Xpo exhibition halls, a lot of effort was put into the development of a cultural city program and numerous satellite events. Graphic designer Boudewijn Delaere was asked to design the logo. That same simple but striking logo is still used today. Each edition also invited its own a guest of honour. The list of these international names reads like a who-is-who in contemporary de- sign: the Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti, the French architect Jean Prouvé, the German industrial designer Dieter Rams and the Spanish designer Jaime Hayon are just a few names who adorn the honours list. … – 2018 Now, fifty years later, the then new idea of combining design with cultural and com- mercial elements has proven to be a success formula. The ideas from that time have ensured that the Biennale has grown into a standing appointment in the annual design calendar. The 50th edition of the Biennale Interieur brings with it some drastic changes. While up to the previous edition the exhibition lasted for ten days, we now opt for a more compact but strong substantive approach. Between 18 and 22 October 2018, INTERIEUR 2018 will again be the place to be in terms of innovation and creativity. The Biennale Interieur is also increasingly aiming at a professional audience. In addition to a strong cultural program including lectures, exhibitions, presentations and meeting moments, a lot of attention is paid to business and entrepreneurship. Interaction and exchange between participants, trade and professional customers are central for 5 days. An architecture programme gives national and international architects the opportunity to enjoy a company visit to one of the participating com- panies in addition to the program in the Xpo. In addition, the city festival is in line with the original idea of the Biennale Inter- ieur. An empty hospital in the center of the city is taken over by a young generation of designers, cultural partners and internationally leading designers. A CENTRAL PIAZZA BY STUDIO VERTER / CLAUDIO SACCUCCI & ROXANE VAN HOOF The scenography of several previous editions always played with the idea of ‘the city’ in which the large spaces of the expo were compared with Parisian boulevards or the residential blocks of Manhattan. The exhibition halls are approached as an urban environment, a public space in which different actors and events enrich the environment. Studio Verter also departs from the concept of the city, but does not limit itself to one example in particular. The scenography does not reflect a particular style or era, but is conceived based on the universal image of a city that can be recognized in locations and histories all over the globe. By referring back to archetypal abstract concepts that together constitute ‘a city’, Claudio Saccucci and Roxane Van Hoof provide a recognizable, readable design. Fundamental in the composition of a city is the square. A market, a piazza or a square is the open space par excellence: the heart of a city, a common place to come together. In these spaces the private becomes public, personalities and ideas receive a stage and all present elements become part of the public domain. On an architectural level, squares provide orientation: the demarcated spaces are distin- guished within the homogeneous composition of a city. Within the expo of INTERIEUR 2018 a central piazza will also structure and characterize the spaces. The existing spaces around it will be perceived differently, allowing the newly created space to be the anchor point of the 26th Biennale Inter- ieur. Thanks to the delineated character of the space - an open square surrounded by a ‘city wall’ and lined by ‘streets’ - it contrasts with the surrounding booths. The open space is a striking exception next to the tight grid. Within the walls, the open character of the piazza is played out, creating a lively, vibrant market feeling. Outside the city walls, the façade - a 300-meter-wide wall, subdivided according to a certain rhythm of openings - provides an eye-catching feature. This enclosure unites the various elements on the inside. Thanks to the translucent material, the piazza is visually linked to the rest of the environment, de- spite a distinctly distinct layout. Adam Nathaniel Furman Landmarks Conrad Willems
The basic idea of ‘the square’ is further illustrated by the presence of a series of ‘landmarks’. These are objects or structures that are found in every city and in various squares around the world: an obelisk, a fountain, a statue, a kiosk.Just like in a real environment, these archetypes become a point of recognition and become a place where people come together. Each landmark becomes a unique design. In addition to Studio Verter, the following artists, designers and architects were invited to develop their vision on an urban object. 1 Column “Steel Column” by Studio Verter (NL/IT) www.studio-verter.com 2 Statue “Construction II, Construction III, Construction IV and Construction IV” by Conrad Willems (BE) Conrad Willems is a visual artist from Ghent who mainly works with drawings, sculp- tures and performances. His recognizable works are characterized by geometry, rep- etition and modularity. Both in his drawings and in his sculptures, he strips archetypal architectural forms of their functionality. Willems’ sculptures are often built up live, transforming the building up phase into as a sort of performance art. Here he plays with the components of his work: building blocks can be disassembled, combined and reconstructed in order to explore the used material and building techniques. He presents ‘Construction II, III, IV, V’. www.conradwillems.com 3 Bench “Brutiful” by Maniera (BE) & Arno Brandlhuber (GER) The German Arno Brandlhuber is a talented architect, passionate teacher and a driv- en voice in the public debate. Since the beginning of his career, the Berlin architect has questioned the laws that curb our society, presenting projects that embody the relationship between legislation and architecture. Just think of his Antivilla or his own office building in Berlin’s Brunnenstrasse. His projects challenge the boundaries be- tween architecture and building legislation, based on the idea that rules are meant to serve society and not vice versa. Brandlhuber regularly takes on the role of activist, with poster campaigns or even with satirical reports. At the invitation of the Brussels gallery Maniera, who in a few years managed to secure a permanent place in the gallery circuit, Brandlhuber started from the idea of a bench or seating area called Brutiful. www.maniera.be / www.brandlhuber.com 4 Obelisk “Lumalisk” by Adam Nathaniel Furman (UK) Adam Nathaniel Furman is an artist and designer based in London, trained trained in Architecture and Fine Arts. His work is often inspired by architectural history, imagi- nation and the communicative power of architecture. His work ranges from architec- ture and interior design to sculptures, installations, journalism and product design. Whatever the project, it always involves extensive research. As Furman himself says, he is an avid collector: he keeps digging into his subject until he has explored it way beyond the surface. The balance between the depth of his almost obsessive re- search, and the joyful, sensual experience of his often playful, colour-bursting work is the interplay that makes Furman’s work so distinctive. His 9 metres high Lumalisk will be a colourful, eye-catching addition. www.adamnathanielfurman.com 5 Kiosk “Designkiosk” by Chmara.Rosinke (AUT) From their studios in Berlin and Vienna, Maciej Chmara and Ania Rosinke design, direct and execute objects, interiors and pop-ups from concept through to creation. They strive to combine craftsmanship with a conceptual and ecological approach, re- alizing both commissioned and self-initiated projects. Many of their works are inspired by functional and socio-cultural aspects. They translate these observations into their designs after its analysis and research. Chmara.rosinke pay a lot of attention to details and the emotions objects and spaces can evoke. Above all, they see aesthetics as an important part of their sustainable vision on design.www.chmararosinke.com Biennale INTERIEUR 2018 18-22 October Kortrijk, Belgium
INTERIEUR Awards 2018 Spaces & Objects
Young talent and promising designers find their way to the Biennale through the Inter- ieur Awards, allowing them to present their ideas to a large and professional audience. This competition offers the opportunity to test new, unreleased objects to an audience and to have them seen by a professional jury. The spaces category gives the opportunity to young architects to design a total con- cept. This category was installed for the third time in a row, asking participants to create a contemporary and innovative bar design. Not only the offered experience and the living environment of tomorrow are central, the proposed food concept was also taken into account and will be executed down to the last detail. The jury has consisted of leading captains of industry, designers and design critics for many years. A mix of people who, in one way or another, play an import- ant role in the contemporary design and architectural landscape. The jury this year consisted of Patrizia Moroso (IT), designers Sebastian Herkner (DE), Alain Gilles (BE) and Dimitri Bähler (CH), journalist Tom Morris (UK), and architects Glenn Sestig (BE) and Alex Mustonen of Snarkitecture (USA). Spaces Geofood – Raams Studio Café Gyproc – Julien Renault & Paul Vaugoyeau INTERIEUR Awards 2018
Café Gyproc By Julien Renault (FR) & Paul Vaugoyeau (FR) Inspired by a traditional ‘café terrasse’, Julien Renault and Paul Vaugoyeau envi- sioned Café Gyproc as an ode to the Latin way of life with a focus on joy and gath- ering. The architecture goes back to the essence of a bar. Recognizable elements - colourful blinds, a long bar and various bistro chairs - immediately make clear what the function of the location is, emphasizing the hidden beauty of raw materials. Geofood By Raams Studio / German Roig & Natalia Moreno (ES) Geofood goes back to the roots of living and eating. Raams Studio looked at how people used to live, work and collect together. This allowed them to omit super- fluous accents, commit to recyclable materials and focus on the food and people. Inspired by the typical white Spanish cave house, this back-to-basics bar not only shows how it used to be, but how it could be in the future. Bar Open by Matyas Molnar, Maros Somora & Christian Vajda (SK) Hidden by tall black walls, the sound and scent of food invite you to take a peek in- side. Here, people are free to use the bar as they please, challenged by a few metic- ulously-chosen interventions in the decor that play with shape, height and visibility. Giovanna Castiglioni (IT) 11:30 The iconic works of Achille Castiglioni have become an indispensable part of the collective design consciousness over the entire world. This year marks the cen- tennial celebration of the Milanese maestro’s birth. On Friday October 19th his daughter and head of the Fondazione Castiglioni, Giovanna Castiglioni, will talk about her father’s stunning oeuvre during an event the promises to be an inter- esting encounter for architects and design aficionados from all over the world. in collaboration with Flos Léon Stynen 14:00 Dirk Laureys (Flanders Architecture Institute) and Fredie Floré (Faculty of Archi- tecture KULeuven) will pay homage to the Belgian architect Léon Stynen. They will tackle the general framework in which his creations came to life, while also emphasizing his interior work. Part of the Stynen2018 year, this lecture is one of the many activities celebrating the oeuvre of this versatile and active architect. in collaboration with Flanders Architecture Institute Jan De Vylder (BE) 16:00 De Vylder Vinck Tailleu won this year’s Silver Lion in Venice for their design of Caritas, the renovation of an old psychiatric clinic in Melle, Belgium. With their architectural intelligence, skill and humanity they have used the decay of the different existing buildings as an inherent part of the project. The radical free strategic thinking employed by DVVT lead to a completely unexpected and wonderful solution where past and the present, tactile materiality and ephem- eral memory intertwine. Architect Jan De Vylder will elaborate on his prac- tice and how they approach architecture in a conversation with Gideon Boie. in collaboration with A+ magazine INTSITE.BE Launch & Lectures (BE) 17:00 The brand new interior and design site intsite.be will launch on November 19th. The site caters to building professionals int the interior and design sector and will bring interesting interviews, reports, product reviews and other news for this target group every week. Intsite.be is, just like its sister site architectura.be, an initiative of Redactiebureau Palindroom. To mark the launch of this new platform, they will host a series of lectures on Friday October 19th. Speakers from 3 different bureaus will elaborate on inspiring case studies that revolve around a new way of working and the way in chich this has changed the design of offices and working environments. Siska Dhondt (Intra Interior) about offices of Teamleader and Marlon, Frederik Vaes and Massimo Pignanelli (UAU Collectiv) about city office Hasselt and its own office UAU, Serge Haelterman and Bart Canini (Creneau) about ING, bank branch of the future and other cases. Fala Atelier (PT) 20:00 The young Portuguese Fala Atelier was founded by Filipe Magalhães (°1987), Ana Luisa Soares (°1988) and Ahmed Belkhodja (°1990) in Porto in 2013. Naivety, in- tuition and rhetoric are the tools that help them approach and design their proj- ects. Their portfolio principally consists of the renovation of apartments located in the town’s historic centre, increasing the useful capacity of limited volumes while at the same time avoiding the everyday aesthetics of rental accommoda- tion. Paper architecture also plays a major role in their work. Images and draw- ings form a series of visual metaphors that convey the sensitivity and intentions of each project. These transmit the sense of an inhabited, poetic and playful world, as the architects will have the opportunity to explain at their conference. in collaboration with Archipel en Leiedal Biennale INTERIEUR 2018 18-22 October Kortrijk, Belgium

Interieur 2018 City Festival To Object Dennis De Smet
INTERIEUR 2018 is expands beyond the exhibition halls again this year. Under the title TO OBJECT, the renewed Interieur Festival guarantees a surprising and creative city programme. Exhibitions, workshops, lectures and performances are planned at various locations in the city center. The Interieur Festival also runs a little longer than the Biennale Interieur and is organized in collaboration with numerous cultural players from Kortrijk and beyond. Just like the programme at the expo, the satellite programme is also rooted in the search for meaning and sustainable innovation. What does it mean to be a meaning- ful brand? How does that actually work? And what can you expect from it? If To Object refutes, protests and makes objections, does that also include the word object? Can an object be subject to resistance? Can it raise questions and be socially relevant? On the basis of these questions, we look for a different meaning. The city festival To Object not only acts from pure economic considerations, but seeks to integrate different sectors and actors with a social story. That too can be a reason for a product. The emphasis is therefore not only on the product but on so much more: social relevance, dealing differently with ecosystems, philosophy, interaction and partici- pation. In preparation for this festiva, an entire year of interdisciplinary collaboration was planned. Educational institutions and designers are brought into contact with each other. Industry finds a places alongside the cultural sector. And science and politics exchange ideas. With the necessary attention for ecology and sustainability, interest in custom- ization and responsive prototyping, and recognition of new talent, the former AZ Groeninge Sint-Maarten hospital and the Gulden Sporen College are occupied by contemporary design of all kinds. Projects from different artists, designers and col- lectives transform the estranging, atypical location in a vibrant, topical spot. Biennale INTERIEUR 2018 18-22 October Kortrijk, Belgium
Objection #1 Young Talent Harvey Bouterse
Sabine Marcelis will make sure you enter the hospital with a bang. Marcelis has roots in The Netherlands and New-Zealand and works from Rotterdam. Working at the intersection between installation and object design, Marcelis seeks ‘moments of magic’ when it comes to new materials and different manufacturing processes. Her characteristic use of materials and colours make her one of the must-watch designers of the moment. Her work is represented by galleries such as Etage Projects (Copenhagen), Gallery Bensimon (Paris) and Victor Hunt (Brussels). and she has worked for clients like Celine, Aesop, Eastpak, Vogue and many more. www.sabinemarcelis.com Fashion and ceramic designer Harvey Bouterse (NL / SUR) presents a Ceramic Wunderkammer, filling his empty hospital room with treasures that immerse the vis- itor in the world of a ceramicist. His eclectic way of working takes you on a journey through small and large pieces of ceramics, intertwined with works of Wouter Hoste (BE). Bouterse uses brutalist shapes, primitive influences and his South- ern-American background as base for his intuitive, bright pieces of art. www.hrvi.be Creative branding agency DIFT presents its fourth project for the Biennale. For ‘The New Masters’ they have invited twelve artists/designers to work with the characteristic logo designed by Boudewijn Delaere: “50 years of the Biennale is also 50 years of the iconic logo by Boudewijn Delaere. It also means 50 years of graphic design history linked to the Biennale and design. The New Masters is a re-interpretation of graphic design for design and interiors. We choose a colour, shape, pattern, design, brand, current ... as inspiration for a contemporary designer to work with.” The selected designers will utlise an archive, composed by DIFT in collaboration with Design Museum Ghent and Biennale Interieur, featuringcatalogues, magazines and newspapers from the last 50 years. The works created will be in a number of dif- ferent forms, from paper pieces to spatial works on location. The archive pieces will be exhibited in the hallways of the Sint-Maarten hospital alongside the reinterpretations. Akt focuses on in-depth interviews, profiles and high-end photography on subjects such as design, architecture, interior, art, music and. The launch will be marked by an exhibition that depicts the aesthetics and values of Akt. In the atmospheric environment of a mod- ernist chapel, art, fashion, photography, design and music come together. The space will also host several events, including an exclusive showcase from the Belgian band SX who will be presenting their new album. www.aktmagazine.com Biennale INTERIEUR 2018 18-22 October Kortrijk, Belgium
Objection #1 Young Talent Kewlox
Belgian storage brand Kewlox will present an interactive experience, creating a workshop room in which visitors will be invited to illustrate panels as part of a growing installation. The iconic Belgian brand is lead by multidisciplinary designer Julien Renault, who is able to revive the heritage of the brand by sticking to its core: modular, contemporary and versatile. www.kewlox.be Frederik Bogaerts and Jochen Sablon take materials under their skin to feel, become and be them. As SMENT, they deconstruct and reassemble a material to fully explore its possibilities, ending up with a design that uplifts but not outshines the core material. A SMENT design gives matter a pedestal that is both functional and sculptural. During Interieur, they will present new and existing objects in the Gestalt series, exploring the possibilities of concrete. Both brutal and elegant, all objects share the fundamentalist approach: no superfluous features, but focus on the most important characteristic: the material. www.sment.be vormen is a young 4-headed collective with a passion for design and craftsman- ship. Respecting the dream and rituals behind ‘making’, they create objects that are shaped by the interplay between idea and matter. Dreaming, producing, planning and prototyping: everything takes place under the same roof. vormen.be Roel Vandebeek has had a career spanning over twenty years, creating works that fuse art and industrial design. At Interieur City Festival, Roel will create a substantial installation made from bricks, a development from his 2017 work Dubio. www.itsaroel.be Biennale INTERIEUR 2018 18-22 October Kortrijk, Belgium
Objection #2 Environment Sep Verboom
Sep Verboom (BE) and his studio LIVABLE collaborate with traditional com- munities around the world. Sep creates projects in which crafts, social engagement, design and human relations beautifully come together. The ultimate goal is a social, ecological and qualitative revolution of the traditional industries: “More than ever we need to think about the sourcing, processing and use of our natural resources. More than ever we need to find and implement alternatives.” These values connected LIVABLE to German studio Out For Space, who are the developers of KARUUN materials. Thanks to this patented technology, they can transform palm wood into an innovative material category. The installation ‘Tube The Loop’ reveals the circular process behind KARUUN, from sourcing of the materials and processing to marketing and final implementation. More than just a concept or theory, it is mainly about that last step: a finished, functional product that can be used by companies, designers and architects. www.livable.world Studio Achoo is an allround design studio with focus on sustainability, from furniture and interior design to lighting and 3D-printing. Designer Bart Van Houcke often uses renewable and upcycled materials, often treading new ground. The Moro chair (Norwegian for fun) is the result of a collaboration between Studio Achoo, startup Colossus 3D printing and Tomorrowland. The small version of the chair is printed in 1 hour, the larger one takes about 5 hours. The sturdy materials and easy care make Moro the perfect outdoor chair, although it is an eyecatcher indoors as well. achoo.be Biennale INTERIEUR 2018 18-22 October Kortrijk, Belgium
Objection #3 Pop-Up Academy & Education
HoWest takes over entire hallway of the hospital, presenting ‘HoWest Labeau’. This creative academy experiment unites product design, digital design and game design. What do they have in common? A creative thirst to experiment! Digital De- sign and Development (Devine) will light the sky with hundreds of IV bags. Take your shovel and sculpt your own virtual racing track with sand in a room of Digital Arts and Entertainment (DAE), lauded as the best programme of its kind in the world by ‘The Rookies’. Industrial Product Design (IPO) will (try to) beat the world record organic leather growing. www.howest.be Week of Design / Week van het ontwerpen offers a stage to creative and innovative students projects since 2004. After 14 years, is has become the platform for inspiration and the exchange of know-how between the industry and the creative educational field. Objection #4 Crossover Culture Kurt d’Haeseleer Els Viane
Het Wilde Westen curates the expo ‘Klinkende Stad: To Object’, gathering 6 artists who will join sound and matter in ‘sound objects’. What is an object? What is its function. How is it realized? How does it generate meaning? ‘To Object’ has a dual meaning, both as a noun and as an active verb. The expo zooms in on the artist who is observing our daily reality, reflects on it in his works or radically opposes to it to offer other alternatives. Among the selected artists are Els Viane, Kurt d’HAeseleer, Pascal Broccolichi and Stéphane Kozik. The full programme will be announced by June 30th. www.wildewesten.be In addition to the shop in the Kortrijk Xpo, creative studio Baroness O. also hosts, curates and design the official shop at the Interieur Festival. Different artists and designers will add one or more of their designs to the curated selection. Moreover, lunch bar CAntine – a project by Baroness O. founder Anne Van Assche – will provide a healthy, quick and tasty offering of snacks and drinks. www.eatatcantine.be Play is a free city circuit for contemporary art that takes over the inner city of Kortrijk with interactive artworks. 40 international artists investigate the importance of play in our society. Along the course, and with more than 60 artworks, both your body and your mind are stimulated. For ‘I am prepared for you’, artist Markus Sixay spreads out 150 kilogram confetti on the floor: the exact same weight he had when he first presented this installation in 2003. woog de kunstenaar namelijk precies toen hij de installatie in 2003 voor het eerst creëerde. The body of Sixay is turned into a colourful landscape of paper scraps. Throw them around, kick them in the air and PLAY along. PLAY runs until November 11Th. playkortrijk.be Atelier Haute Cuisine doesn’t do any cooking or other food related stuff. But just like a chef would cook a meal, they mix different ingredients together so that they contribute to a greater whole. The outcome can be handmade objects, light sculptures, furniture, site specific installations or concepts, always created with a love for art and craftsmanship. The installation ‘Light Pollution’ presents a group of oil barrels that are pulled out of their context, changing the dark and pol- luting image by transforming them into bright light sculptures. haute-cuisine.be Design Museum Gent uses the former recovery rooms as backdrop for theri story about the rediscovery and move of their collection. The Unchosen by designer and film maker Alexandre Hubert show a glimpse behind the scenes of the collection and the preparation of the moving of 2 2.500 objects to a new depot underneath the Ghelamco Arena and depot Sabeen in 2018. The movie provides a stage for ‘the unchosen’ objects: pieces that aren’t part of the permanent collec- tion but earn attention nevertheless. The Unchosen was created as part of the new collection presentation Object Stories. Een kijk op de collectie, on show since May 2018 at Design Museum Ghent. Creative agency Nightingale and Belgian design brand D&M collaborate on an experimental installation. ANTIDOTE 2X19 takes the visitor on a journey through an estranging world where post-relevant topics take the lead. Visitors are offered a cure: the Remedy of Relevance. Through a conceptual waiting room, where greenery suppresses humanity, you are lead to the operation room, ready for a symbolic injection.
