NHS Inductees Program Biographies: Class 2022 Connor Alspaugh Connor is involved with numerous activities. He participates on the high school swim team. He is also a musician and enjoys playing in the school band and orchestra. Connor also served on the tech crew for the musical. Outside of school, Connor participates in Boy Scouts. Rylee Bender Rylee is involved in varsity tennis and stage crew for the high school’s theatre productions. She is also a Mini-THON captain as well as a Roots and Shoots officer, and she volunteers as a mentor in the Bigs and Littles program. In her free time, Rylee enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her family, friends, and dog. Patrick Boyer Patrick is involved with the varsity swimming team and track and field team. He is involved with marching, concert, and jazz band, as well as the orchestra and choir. He is also involved in the theatre program. Outside of school, Patrick works at the Health Care Center at Masonic Village. He is also an Eagle Scout. Victoria Bressler Victoria is an active member of the Theatre Club. She was nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress Apollo Award in fall of 2019, and served as the Student Producer for Little Women. Victoria is a member of marching, concert, and jazz bands, orchestra, concert and show choirs. She is a class officer and treasurer of Key Club. She is also a member of the Student Council. She has volunteered with the Susquehanna Service Dog organization as well as the Water Street Mission. Victoria is a tour guide for the Hershey Trolley Works. Faith Burkholder Faith is an active member at CBC church in Marietta and is part of the youth group there as well. She has volunteered in the past for two years to help residents at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown and for the past three years, she has helped teach classes at the E-Dance center. Within her school, has been on a committee for Mini-THON and will continue to do so. Faith is the President of the Goat Club in the Lancaster County 4-H. In the past she has also been the President of the dairy-beef club. Additionally, she is an FFA officer at her school as the Chapter Reporter. Faith has been involved in Etown FFA since 2018. Every year she donates 10% of her profits of raising animals for the fairs to the local food banks. Finally, she is also a server at Masonic Village. Hana Connolly Hana is a member of band, orchestra, chorus, and show choir, playing the clarinet and viola. She is an upcoming officer for Key Club and is an active member of Bible Club. Hana has participated in the high school’s theater program in cast, pit, and stage crew. Outside of school, Hana takes dance classes at Hershey School of Dance. She is an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and her youth group, where she likes to volunteer on mission trips and other events. Hana also volunteers at Gretna Glen Camp and Retreat Center during the year. Mara Connolly Mara is active in chorus, show choir, band and orchestra, playing bassoon and mellophone. She participates in the school musicals, Key Club, Bible Club, and is Co-President of Book Club. During her week, Mara dances at Hershey School of Dance. She is an active member at her church, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Throughout the year, Mara volunteers at Gretna Glen Camp and Retreat Center and in the community through her youth group.
Logan Conrad Logan is an honors student in 11th grade. He is a soccer player and enjoys spending time with friends. Logan is an avid volunteer and enjoys helping people. He once raised $27,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Logan is a Chair in Student Council and a Co-Captain of the Mini-THON fundraising committee. He volunteers with Rotary every few weeks. Madison Conway Madison is currently involved in many school athletic programs including varsity soccer, varsity swim team, and varsity lacrosse. She is also a Co-Captain of the Major Events committee in the Elizabethtown Mini-THON club. Every summer she volunteers in the Pre-K or Kindergarten groups of her church’s Vacation Bible School and has actively participated in other youth volunteer activities through the Saint Peter’s Catholic Church. Madison will spend her upcoming spring, Saturday mornings volunteer coaching u6/u8 soccer. She will spend her summer lifeguarding at Willowood Swim Club and teaching swim lessons to young children. Kaitlyn Crum Kaitlyn has been involved with Varsity Lacrosse since her freshman year. She has also been recruited to the Lanco Elite Club lacrosse team to play in their select summer travel program. She is a member of the EAHS Student Council and was elected as the Secretary for the Class of 2022 Officers. Kaitlyn is a member of the Science Olympiad team where she has earned multiple medals for achievements in Astronomy and Disease Detectives at both the regional and state level. She spends her free time working as a host at Lucky Ducks Bar and Grille and as a lifeguard at Hershey Park. On weekends, Kaitlyn spends time with Northwest EMS participating in clinical shifts on the ambulance and learns skills in order to prepare for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians exam. Next school year, she will be attending CTC and participating in the Advanced Health Career Program. Kendall Davies Kendall has been involved in varsity soccer and varsity lacrosse for the past three years. As well as a Hershey soccer club player for five years. In past summers, Kendall has volunteered at Masonic Village in their health care facility and will continue to do so. She also has a part time job working in one of their main restaurants on campus. Ella Dehmey Ella is involved in many academic activities. She is currently studying to become an EMT and will be attending the Advanced Health Careers CTC program next year. She also volunteers with the athletic trainers in the high school to learn more about human anatomy and physiology. Ella is Class President, and has been in Student Council since seventh grade. She has been a mentor in tutoring programs over the past few years to help make a difference in the lives of her peers. This past year, Ella competed in the Science Olympiad competition with the high school team at both the regional and state level. In the summers, Ella teaches water safety, skill, and confidence to children in the community as a swim lesson instructor. Allison Evans Allison is a Vice President of the Class of 2022 and is involved in many extracurricular activities. She has earned multiple varsity letters from her participation on the school’s tennis, bowling, and track & field teams. Ally also is a part of the marching band and orchestra, where she plays the flute. In addition to these activities, she is involved in Mini-THON, Roots & Shoots, Newspaper Club, Science Olympiad, and Key Club. Outside of school, Ally regularly assists St. Peter’s Lutheran Church services and is an active participant in its youth ministry.
Peyton Florek Peyton is a junior at Elizabethtown Area High School. She has participated in several community service clubs, including Girl Up, Unified Alliance, and Key Club. During her time with Unified Alliance, she led many service projects benefiting the club and promoting inclusion for students with disabilities. She was a Junior Olympic gymnast for 9 years, reaching level 9. She also competed for her high school gymnastics team, earning a varsity letter, All-Conference Award, All-State Honorable Mention Award, and Section Academic Gold Award. She is currently a recreational and competitive gymnastics coach for children of all ages. Brieal Frey Brieal is currently involved in school and club soccer, lacrosse, Student Council, is a Yearbook editor, and in a normal year, is a Mini-THON committee member. She also occasionally does part time work for a family member. Brieal really enjoys working with kids, and she helps out as an assistant coach for a young girls’ soccer team. Mitchell Garber Mitchell is a three sport athlete who is involved in varsity baseball, soccer, and swimming. Outside of school and activities, his jobs include being a soccer referee as well as a lifeguard at Willowood Swim Club. Mitchell volunteers for numerous service projects through his church, Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Ashley Geesey Ashley is involved in many clubs within her school. She is a member of the Student Council, a Chair of the Mini-THON committee, and she also serves as her Class Vice President. She is currently participating in Attollo Recruit with the goal of growing as a leader. Outside of school she works with a program called Bigs and Littles to mentor younger students. She works as a cashier at Gingrich's Food Market and is also a babysitter throughout the summer. Ashley enjoys going to her youth group at Newport Church. In her free time she enjoys volunteering, hanging out with her friends, and participating in dance classes. Owen Gensemer Owen is a runner on the varsity cross country and track team and is also on the varsity swimming team as a distance swimmer. In addition, he has swam a mile and ran a half marathon. Owen is also a member of the Elizabethtown marching band as a trombone player. In the classroom, he attended AP World History and scored a ⅘ on the AP World Exam. During the summer, Owen works as a lifeguard at Masonic Village. Kyveli Georges Kyveli has been heavily involved in the high school theater program, participating in both the plays and musicals since freshman year. She is also a musician, and a member of the school orchestra and chorus, even singing in District Chorus this past year. She is a class officer and enjoys being in clubs such as Roots and Shoots and Newspaper, and is the President of Key Club. Kyveli is an active member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Lancaster. Within her church, she is on the church basketball team, Greek Dance team, and is a GOYA Officer. She also takes dance classes at Hershey School of Dance. Kyveli enjoys volunteering at her church and around her community. Jessica Gilbert Jessica is involved in soccer and lacrosse throughout high school. She also plays soccer outside of school for Hershey Soccer Club. She completed her volunteer hours at Willow Valley Communities retirement home. Jessica also works at Starbucks as a supervisor. She enjoys hanging out with friends, going to the beach, and hiking.
Charlotte Hershey Charlotte has been involved in soccer, swimming and track through her years at the highschool. She has also participated in Mini-THON, raising money for children with cancer as well as Paws and Think. In her early years of highschool she was a part of chorus and the musical, and has a passion for art. Katrina Hook Katrina is a member of the varsity cross country, winter track, and varsity track teams. When she isn’t running around town, she volunteers in the fall and spring with the Healthy Kids Running Series to share her love of running with younger children in the community. As a member of the Student Council, she has attended conferences and designed the council website. Katrina also spends her study halls as a peer tutor for middle school students. In the 2019 National History Day contest, she won first place in the regional senior paper category, and moved on to attend the PA State Competition. Recently, she had a writing piece published in the Dispatches from Quarantine gallery, and participated in a segment about the project on NPR. Katrina is also a member of the Reading Olympics team and Key Club. Eleni Houck Eleni is involved in many activities. She has participated on the swim team and track team, and is hoping for a normal return to swim and track next year. As well as her involvement in athletics, she is a captain on Mini-THON. She is also actively involved in her church doing community service. She has volunteered her time at her church’s bazaar, food box distribution, the CROP hunger walk, and off the streets, helping families move into a new home. Finally, Eleni loves animals and is hoping to intern at a vet clinic next year. Samantha Ippolito Samantha is a member of the varsity track team and winter track team. She competes in a variety of events at various track meets and invitationals. Over the past two years, she has served in two different officer positions in her school’s FFA chapter, the highest being Vice President. Outside of school hours, Samantha works at Kountry Kitchen Family Restaurant as a server. She has worked there for about a year and loves it. Samantha is an active member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church, and loves helping with events such as vacation bible school when possible. Sierra Kapcsos Sierra is currently involved in varsity track and swimming along with varsity cross country where she is a Co-Captain. During school, she volunteers in the school’s multiple disabilities classroom before her classes. Sierra is an active member at LCBC Church and volunteers for the kids youth group each week. Lastly, during the summer, she is a volunteer swim coach with her local swim team. Alyssa Kreider Alyssa is currently spending most of her time working as a server at Masonic Villages. She loves to read and play the piano in any free time she has. She also volunteered at LCBC church and goes to a youth group every Wednesday. Alyssa always tries to find the beauties in the world by going on walks or driving as the sunsets. Ellen Laszakovits Ellen is very involved in the art and fashion scene. She is currently painting a mural for the school library and has won various art awards along with a feature in an art exhibit. She has been making and designing clothes for the past year and will continue to expand in the future. Ellen works for Twin Kiss, a local restaurant, and Samara, a nonprofit organization in Harrisburg after spending the first 2 years there volunteering. She has also spent her summers volunteering at Masonic Village and doing city cleaning projects. This year, Ellen made it her mission to restart the Human Rights Club and is working as President to reestablish it as a club within the school.
Kyle Lloyd Kyle is currently involved in the marching and concert band, orchestra, and the varsity rifle team. He is an active member in his Boy Scout Troop, and is on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout. He has done many service projects through his troop, such as help make a rest stop on the Conewago Trail. Makenna Locke Makenna has been involved with varsity lacrosse, soccer, and the musical since her freshman year and bowling for the last two years. She is a member of the school orchestra as a leading first violinist and the musical’s pit in the spring. She furthers her violin practices outside of school by playing with an audition youth orchestra in Lancaster City. She has also been involved with Student Council since middle school where she spends time volunteering in the community and has recently joined the Science Olympiad team where she has placed in the Astronomy and Disease Detective events to help further the team to states. Outside of school she works a part-time job at Lucky Ducks Bar and Grill and volunteers at Masonic Villages as a Music Therapy assistant in the summer. Finally, she spends time volunteering with church groups that have taken her to places like New York, Washington D.C., and Ecuador. Jolene Markley Jolene is very interested in the medical field and is currently taking an EMT course at Northwest EMS. She is also involved with a non-profit called The Confidence Conference, and was recently promoted to co-leader. In addition to this, she volunteers at LCBC church where she has been a member for the last seven years. Finally, Jolene has sponsored a child through World Vision for the last two years. Kylie Masser Kylie’s course load includes numerous AP level classes. She also utilizes her academic skills as a member of the Quiz Bowl team. Kylie is also a member of the high school’s GSA club. Julia McAlonis Julia is involved in track and field, concert choir, and Roots and Shoots club. She has previously been involved in the spring musical and FFA. She has also spent time career shadowing and volunteering in English as a Second Language classes. She is a member of Community Bible Church where she serves on the worship team and volunteers in the preschool classes. She has also served in the church’s Vacation Bible School and has been on two mission trips in aid to those experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia and New York City, and another trip in community service to Marietta, PA. She also enjoys serving residents in her job at Masonic Villages. Maxwell McCloud Max is a member of the theater club. Max is also the Head Drum Major of the EAHS marching band this year, plays trumpet in the concert band, and sings in the concert choir. He is a member of Roots & Shoots and the Student Council. Max enjoys bike rides and running, along with any other ways to get outdoors. Max hopes to study environmental science in college. Ryan Moyer Ryan is an active member of the Varsity Quiz Bowl team, is currently the poster committee captain for the Roots and Shoots club, and also plays the cello in the school orchestra. Since ninth grade, he has won six total awards in the digital art and graphic design categories of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, including a Silver Key Award. In ninth grade, he competed in the Congressional Art Competition, and in tenth grade, he placed third in the 2019 Art On The River competition. He runs his own small T-shirt store through TeePublic, and during the summers, he also volunteers at Masonic Village with the Therapeutic Recreation department.
Bryan Murray Bryan Murray is a student who excels at both his schoolwork and his extracurriculars. He has taken and thrived in many Dual Enrollment and AP classes throughout his high school tenure. Bryan is the Class Treasurer and is an active member of his Student Council. He is also a member of the theatre program and received an honorable mention for “Outstanding Featured Performer in a Play” from the Hershey Theatre Apollo Awards in 2019. Additionally, Bryan is a member of the concert choir. Bryan also plays varsity volleyball and club volleyball in the offseason. Sophia Rajnic Sophia enjoys literature and the arts. On any given day you can find her singing in concert or show choir, dancing at her studio, or making music on her ukulele or guitar. She also co-leads EAHS Bible Club and loves serving as a life group leader for younger kids at her church. Ainsley Raybold Ainsley Raybold is a student who excels in school and in extracurriculars. She is an active member of Student Council and a leader of the new Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter in Elizabethtown. Ainsley plays varsity basketball and club basketball in the offseason. She also is a student in the Northwest EMS EMT program, and plans to take the Advanced EMT course and participate in the Advanced Health Careers program through LCCTC next year. Ainsley works at a farm market, an ice cream shop, is a youth soccer referee, and plans to work as an EMT this summer. She has previously volunteered at Masonic Village, and plans to volunteer at a fire department this summer. Peyton Reedy Peyton has been and will continue to be a part of the Mini-THON committee. She helps volunteer with the Etown Rotary to complete community service projects. Peyton has also shown leadership skills as she has been a yearbook editor for the last two years. She loves to travel, spread kindness and always tries to make the world a better place. Abigail Repko Abby is involved in student council, and spends her academic time taking honors and AP classes. In past high school years, she has been involved in Mini-THON, Key Club, Paws and Think, and soccer. After the school routine becomes normal again, she wishes to revisit some of these clubs. She spends her free time avidly reading fiction novels and working at her part time job. Abigail Rickabaugh Abigail is involved in the high school orchestra playing the viola, and also plays in the pit orchestra for the school musicals. She also plays the piano and is on the worship team at her church. She also provides childcare there and babysits regularly. Abigail is involved in her school’s Roots and Shoots club as well as Mini-THON, where she is a finance captain. She recently started working at Masonic Village as a dining attendant. She is also a mentor in the Bigs and Littles program. Jacob Rudy Jacob participates on the high school swim team. Outside of school he helps to coach a U10 soccer team.
Jake Rudy Jake is a varsity player on the lacrosse team and the wrestling team. He was Captain of the wrestling team. He is an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. Over the years he has raised money and volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Association. He also works part time during the school year at Giant. Matthew Sharp Matthew is currently involved in the Elizabethtown Engineering Club, in which he and his team compete in the NanoLine Contest, and The American Rocketry Challenge. He also is a member of the Elizabethtown Quiz Bowl Team. In his free time, Matthew enjoys mountain biking and gardening. He is a regular attendee of Landisville Mennonite Church, where he helps coordinate their live streamed services. Matthew is also a member of Boy Scout Troop 51, where he earned his Eagle Scout Award in June. Olivia Shenk Olivia has been involved in track and soccer, as well as a season of cross country, throughout high school. She is an active member of the FFA where she has held an officer position for two years and is currently the President of the chapter. Outside of school, Olivia regularly attends Chiques Church where she is very involved in the youth group, sings and plays guitar for the praise team, and volunteers for multiple programs and day camps for children year-round. Over the past few years, she has gone on two mission trips to Philadelphia to hand out care packages to the homeless and volunteered for the Manheim Project, doing landscaping for a resident of Manheim. She enjoys working at Messick’s Equipment in Elizabethtown, stocking and picking parts, washing trucks for her family’s business, E.E. Shenk Sons Inc., and working at Koser Auctions. This summer, she plans to go on a week-long work camp to New Castle, Pennsylvania with her youth group. Aivery Shuck Aivery is involved in many activities in, and out of school. She is involved with the Elizabethtown varsity soccer team, as well as the school’s rifle team and plays the flute in the school band. She was a part of Mini-THON and Key Club in her early years of high school, and is currently Co-President of Book Club and is the Vice President of Roots and Shoots environmental club. She volunteered at a homeless shelter in a program called Helping Hands, as well as the Water Street Mission homeless shelter. She is currently volunteering in a soccer program as a coach to young aspiring soccer players. Julia Sikora Julia is an accomplished musician, participating in marching band, concert band, and orchestra. She has also been involved in many theater productions, playing in the pit orchestra for the school musicals and serving as the assistant stage manager for the fall play. She is a clarinet section leader and has been a part of both county and district bands throughout high school. She is also a member of the varsity track team as a jumper. Julia is the President of Roots and Shoots, Vice President of Key Club, and participates in Bible Club. She enjoys volunteering for Mary Mother of the Church, where she has taught first and second grades, middle school, and helped in the nursery.
Anasen Spang Anasen’s latest endeavor is throwing for the school’s track and field team. She is on the leadership team for the FCA branch at EAHS. She regularly attends Newport Church, and is an avid member of her church’s youth group. She serves as a Sunday school teacher, and volunteers in the media department by operating the camera to record the online services. For the last three years, she has worked as a cashier at Gingrich’s Food Market. She enjoys participating on her church’s community service and ministry teams, and has served in inner city Reading, inner city Philadelphia and abroad in Scotland. She looks forward to serving in other places and capacities in the future. Sydney Stewart Sydney is a team leader on the high school volleyball and softball teams. In addition, she also participates in club volleyball outside of school. Sydney is a member of the FCA club and is involved with Mind and Body Club. Sydney enjoys helping out with the children’s Sunday School at Mt. Calvary Church. Haidyn Tenny During the school year, Haidyn is involved in the marching band and concert band, where she plays the clarinet. She is also a part of the Roots and Shoots environmental club at Elizabethtown Area High School. Haidyn dances at Richie School of Dance every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday. She has been dancing since she was three years old. At her dance studio, Haidyn is also a student teacher for two classes, and helps the teacher teach the students new techniques and choreography. In the summer, Haidyn works at Hersheypark in the gift shops. Emma Weaver Emma is involved in Orchestra and choir as well as the NEXTGEN Lancaster Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has been a part of the tech and stage crew every year for the plays and musicals that are done by the school. She started working as a server at Masonic Village last September. Along with that, she volunteers at church outreach events and spends time with her family. In her free time, she likes to read a good book and make jewelry. Erin Weaver Erin is involved with the music program and plays in the orchestra and chamber orchestra, and she is also involved with the NEXTGEN Lancaster Youth Symphony Orchestra. She also always participates in the school theater productions. She helps out on the tech crew during plays and plays in the pit orchestra for the musicals. She is part of the school’s Bible Club and helps out with worship from time to time. Additionally, Erin also has helped tutor a couple students who have struggled with certain subjects. Erin also enjoys working as a server at the Grand Lodge Restaurant in Masonic Village. She really enjoys making the residents happy. She also enjoys helping in different outreach events for her church. Maria Wohlbowne Maria is a swimmer on both the high school and Willowood swim teams. She is a lifeguard at Willowood Swim Club and is a certified swim instructor with SwimAmerica. She has been a member of Key Club and plans to rejoin this upcoming school year. Maria plays violin in the high school orchestra. In her free time, she enjoys babysitting. She has donated her time to make meals for the local homeless shelter. Maria is interested in science and likes to spend time in nature. While hiking she likes to pick up trash and look out for spotted lanternflies to help prevent their spread across Pennsylvania.
