Another year so nearly over, and now we are into the final month of the year,
and all the ELA: - Carol, Angie, Andy, myself, and the Directors wish all a very
Happy Christmas and New Year.
There is no doubt that landlords have had a busy, and in some senses disturbing year
getting to grips with new and amended legislation, along with the odd grenade thrown
into the sector by the Chancellor. His little 'bonus' to end the year was the 3% levy
from April next year on Stamp Duty for purchases made by landlords. Where does he
get these brainwaves?
Next year will again I am sure bring more challenging times for landlords, and we here
at the ELA will do our utmost to help all members to run their businesses, and be here
to assist. Please note that, with the help of Fosters Solicitors we are running a course in
February on all matters legal.
Branch meetings are very much part of the organisation, and these will continue and
hopefully expand in 2016, with meetings planned for Southend, and also Cambridge.
Any members particularly in these areas with thoughts on possible venues for
meetings, as well as speakers, or subjects to be covered, please contact the office,
along with any other views on meetings.
As in every year we invite members to join our Board of Directors and in the New
Year we will be sending out to members an application letter for this process.
