ECFE uses the Minnesota Department of Education Early Childhood Indicators of Progress (Birth to 5 years), Parent Education Core Curriculum Framework, and Saint Paul ECFE Instructional Standards to create high-quality classes for families. On day one, parent education will be focused on this developmental milestone. Sibling care will be available. Day two is a drop-off day where children will be able to practice going to school on their own. In order to align with SPPS enrollment eligibility, students in this program must be at least 3 years old by September 1, 2021.

It is comprised of parents and staff representatives. EARLY CHILDHOOD SCREENING | 651-632-3746 | spps.org/studentwellness Required by State Law for children before starting Kindergarten and required for Pre-K. We screen for development, health, hearing, height, immunization review, social/emotional, speech, and vision. Screening is recommended for children when they are 3 (and up to 5) for early identification of any concerns which may interfere with learning. Screening is offered by Saint Paul Public Schools free of charge. Forms are available from the Early Childhood Screening Office if parents choose to have their own health provider complete the screening. Day and evening appointments available. EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION | 651-744-8094 | spps.org/specialed All children, including children with special education needs, are welcome with their parents in all ECFE classes. ECFE works closely with Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) staff to provide support to children and their families. HELP ME GROW | 1-866-693-4769 | HelpMeGrowMN.org If you have concerns about the development of your child (birth to 5 years), there may be services available for your child and family. Help Me Grow serves young children to improve access to special education and other community services. The Help Me Grow website provides excellent information on child development and developmental milestones. PRE-KINDERGARTEN | 651-632-3760 | spps.org/prek The Pre-Kindergarten Program provides preschool education at many Saint Paul elementary schools supporting and enhancing the learning and development of children and their families prior to kindergarten. Children must be four years old by September 1, 2021 and live in Saint Paul. Admission priority is given to children who are English Language Learners, are eligible for free or reduced meals, or are receiving Early Childhood Special Education services.
