           Sunriver Trail Rides
One of the most unique and fun ways to explore
Sunriver is by horseback with your friends over
at Sunriver Trail Rides! The Sunriver Stables will
be operating under additional safety measures
until the State of Oregon COVID-19 guidelines are
lifted. Social distancing of 6-feet between guests is
paramount for the safety of both guests and

High Desert Museum
Steve "The Crocodile Hunter" Irwin and his wife,
Terri, inspired passion for wildlife all around the
world. Now their children, Bindi and Robert, are
teaching a new generation to become "Wildlife
Warriors" on their Animal Planet show Crikey! It's
the Irwins. Longtime friends of the High Desert
Museum, Terri, Bindi and Robert will make a
special appearance during the Virtual High
Desert Rendezvous on August 29! Have you
registered for the big event yet? We’ll gather from
the comfort of home for an entertaining program,
including an auction and raffle, a glimpse behind
the curtain at the Museum and appearances from
more celebrity guests!

Classes are free and open to all, but a reserved
ticket is required for all classes with the exception
of Tai Chi this month. We at Sunriver You are
asking you to let us know if you have any
hobbies or activities you would like to learn or
rediscover or would be willing to teach to
others. Putting this together is our mission.

              Sunriver Library
Deschutes Public Library has carefully opened
access to resources and services over the past
three months. The next step in this phased

reopening begins on August 25, when Deschutes
Public Library will provide the public with
increased access to library buildings. Currently
open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm for
holds pick up, limited browsing, and returns. See

·     The Friends of the Sunriver Library “grab
box book sale” will continue through Aug. 31.
The cost is only $10/box of about 20! Free delivery
to your doorstep in the Sunriver area. Boxed by
subject matter. To place an order call 503-930-

             SROA Friday Fact
Drones cannot be flown in Sunriver without prior
written approval from the Sunriver Airport and
Sunriver Owners Association. Plan and allow for
a minimum of 72 hours Monday through Friday for
your application to move through the review

   Attention Harper Bridge Users
If you’re planning to visit Harper Bridge near
Sunriver this summer, remember - bridge jumping
is now prohibited and punishable by a fine of up to
$250. When parking is full, have a plan B and
utilize another river access point. Thank you for
helping keep our community safe.

            Kids Meal Program
FREE lunches are still being offered Monday
through Friday, 10:30 to noon at Three Rivers
School for ALL kids, ages 0-18. Friday’s meals
include food for the weekend!

      Food Distribution Program
Care & Share will be distributing food boxes on
Fri., August July 31st from 2:45 pm to 5:45 pm.
Last month the program provided 119 families with
extra food. If you or someone you know is in need,

The COVID-19 Nonprofit Fund sponsored by
the Sunriver Women’s Club awarded $2,000 to
support three local nonprofits continuing to provide
essential services to the community.
- Habitat for Humanity of La Pine Sunriver
received the award for emergency hiring of
subcontractors when volunteer labor could not
assist due to COVID restrictions and for safety
measure expenses for their volunteers.
-La Pine Community Kitchen received the award
to meet the 50% increased demand for to-go

meals and food pantry boxes and for new safety
expenses for outdoor diners.
-Council on Aging received the award to support
the demand for their senior community meals,
which transitioned from dine-in social gatherings to
Grab-n-Go meals and will not be able to meet the
expanded need without the award.

          Sunriver Blood Drive
The Sunriver American Red Cross Blood Drive
will be holding their next blood drive at the
Community Bible Church at Sunriver on
Monday, August 31 from noon to 5 pm. Please do
not come to the blood drive as a "walk-in" as all
donor appointments will be scheduled

 Sunriver Emergency Alert System
Similar to tsunami warning sirens used along the
Oregon coast, the Sunriver community is equipped
with outdoor sirens that can "sound the alarm" if
there is an imminent threat to the community.
Hear It ? Stop all activities and pay attention

for details about the emergency, actions and more.
Evacuate! FOLLOW directions and
designated evacuation routes
The Sunriver Emergency Information website is
designed to help Sunriver residents and visitors
prepare for an emergency. In addition, the site will
help you monitor information about any community
threats and potential next steps.

Sign Up For Deschutes Emergency
             Alerts
The Deschutes Alert System (DAS) can be used to
notify the public with important information during
an emergency. Emergencies happen with little or
no notice at any time of the day or night. With
DAS, we can relay critical information to you about
natural disasters or other emergencies that require
your immediate attention. The service area for
DAS includes Deschutes County, Crooked River
Ranch, and Camp Sherman in the State of

                                         Women’s Club. Even though we are unable to
                                         feature these artists in a live setting this year, you
                                         can still shop for their amazing creations directly
                                         with the artist through the links on our web page.
                                         All sales will be directly between you and the
                                         artist.. Sunriver Art Fair receives no income from
                                         these sales. Our goal is to provide you the
                                         opportunity to shop with these artists. We
                                         encourage you to support these artists during the
                                         current restrictions and look forward to seeing you

                                                     Emergency Grants
                                         The Oregon Legislature has approved a $35
                                         million program to provide financial relief to
                                         Oregonians who may have experienced an

economic hardship due to COVID-19. Oregon is
                 partnering with the private sector to deliver one-
                 time, $500 emergency relief payments. You may

       Deschutes County COVID-19 Updates
The Oregon Health Authority reports an increase of 6 COVID-19
cases in Deschutes County. Of 645 cases, 419 are recovered and
215 are active. St. Charles Health System has 8 COVID-19
patients. 1 of the patients is in the ICU and 0 are on a ventilator.
Patients hospitalized in the St. Charles Health System may have
residence outside of Deschutes County. For more information,

                      Find a Testing Site in Oregon
                 OHA is partnering with Google, Castlight and local
                 public health authorities to help you find local
                 information about where testing is available.
                 While we are working hard to keep the information
                 about where Oregonians can get a COVID-19 test
                 as up to date as possible, you should contact the
                 site first to make sure testing is still occurring.
                 OHA cannot guarantee that you will be able to get
                 tested at one of these sites. It is always best to
                 contact your health care provider about getting a
                 COVID-19 test. Details

                                Contact Tracing
                 If you've been in close contact with someone who
                 tested positive for COVID-19, you may be
                 contacted by a contact tracer or public health
                 worker from your state or local health department.
                 Be aware of scammers pretending to be
                 COVID-19 contact tracers. Legitimate contact
                 tracers will never ask for your Medicare Number or
                 financial information. If someone calls and asks for
                 personal information, like your Medicare
                 Number, hang up and report it to us at 1-800-
                 MEDICARE.

                             COVID-19 & Insects
                 Mosquito and tick bites don’t spread
                 coronaviruses. The main way that COVID-19
                 spreads is from person-to-person. Practice social
                 distancing, wash your hands often, and wear a
                 cloth face covering to prevent the spread. Learn

                 The internet is overloaded with COVID-19
                 misinformation, however, before you share a post
                 or an article, CHECK trusted sources like WHO &
                 National Health authorities. If you believe the
                 information is false or misleading, this is how you
