Pathway Specialisation Year 2 – Cavehill During their stay in Cavehill/ Barbados, students will be able to choose one pathway specialisation out of two. — Corporate and Commercial Law [LLM] — Public Law [LLM] The Faculty of Law was established in 1970 with the headquarter at the Cave Hill Campus in Barbados. The faculty is well equipped to provide legal education with modern day technologies accompanying well qualified expert staff, with both academic and practical expertise. The concentration in commercial law and corporate law has been designed to meet the needs of students interested in an advanced legal studies programme focused on corporate law, financial law, intellectual property law and transnational commercial transactions law. Career Prospects Students will be prepared specifically for management positions in multinational companies and law firms, as well as advisory positions in both the public and private sector. The different opportunities for specialisation allow emphasis on various professional fields as well as for professional careers in academic contexts in research, teaching and administration, such as: — Financial services companies (particularly private and public banks, credit institutions and insurance companies) — International companies and business associations — Legal departments of internationally operating private sector, law firms, international consulting companies as well as auditing and tax consultancy firms — Management, planning and coordination tasks, particularly in internationally oriented public administration (ministries, municipalities, chambers) — National, European and international agencies and organizations, NGOs and IOs — Science (research and teaching) as well as careers in academic and research-related contexts International Economic Law (LL.M.) 01.02.2019 14
