Domestic Competition Structure Tumbling FIG Performance 2021 Trampoline National Technical Committee – Final version 16th June 2020
NATIONAL TRAMPOLINE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE - National Competition Structure 2021 The British Gymnastics (BG) National Trampoline Technical Committee (NTTC) is responsible and accountable to BG for the development and direction of all Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline and Tumbling for all BG members. Any ‘Open’ competitions organised under BG membership/insurance must be authorised by the NTTC. Any regional activity providing opportunity for members of the region must be authorised by the relevant Regional Executive Committee and in consultation with the NTTC. The competition seasons are from 1st October to 30th September. Gymnasts and Coaches may select their competition pathway and entry level. After the appropriate level has been selected and competed at, a gymnast cannot change levels during the same competition season. Notice of main changes to the National Competition Structure 2020/21 • Change to qualification score 9-10yrs • Whip bonus introduced for 9-10yrs National Squad coaches: Rob Small, Glen Wharton, Mikey Barnes, Kath Small Any gymnast who did not compete at FIG in 2018-2019 will need to make arrangements with one of the National Squad Coaches listed above to demonstrate their ability, in person, to meet the minimum criteria and receive permission to enter the Spring Event Series before the event closing date. Failure to comply will result in the gymnast being withdrawn and the entry fee lost. National Development coaches: Mikey French, Chris Porter TUM Rep NTTC: Alan (Paddy) Lavelle NB. FIG rules will be used at the British Championships. Finals will be from zero unless there are fewer than 8 gymnasts in any age group, in which case the score will be cumulative over the 2 rounds of competition (qualification and final)
TUM FIG Performance Level Spring Event Series 2 x British Gymnastics qualifying events for FIG level leading to the British Championships Gymnasts may attend one or both Spring Event Series event to obtain the best counting score. • Gymnasts who do not demonstrate the minimum DD requirements will not be ranked for qualification to the British Championships or be eligible for a medal. • Incomplete runs will result in a zero ‘DNF’ score • Gymnasts receiving a zero ‘DNF’ score will not be awarded a medal Minimum qualifying score per age group / gender is set by the National Coaches in consultation with the Technical Committee and based on the cumulative score from the two qualifying runs. From January 2021 there will be a 0.2 bonus added per whip (bonus applies to a maximum of 5 whips in a single run) making each eligible whip 0.4 for 9-10yrs. For all age groups, quadruple somersaults are prohibited. British Championships Culmination event for FIG Level Gymnasts FIG rules will apply at the British Championships other than if there are fewer than 8 gymnasts in any age group, the score will be cumulative over the 2 rounds of competition (qualification and final). o The starting order for the Final will be in order of merit, the gymnast with the lowest total score in the Qualifying Round going first. Qualification to the British Championships After completion of SES 1 and 2, up to a maximum of 16 gymnasts per age group / gender will be eligible to compete at the British Championships providing the minimum qualifying score and minimum DD are achieved at the same qualifying event. Any gymnast who represented Great Britain in 2019 or is a current member of a National Pathway Squad (including Home Nations squads) who does not achieve the performance standard to qualify to the British Championships will need to apply in writing to the Technical Committee to be considered and approved to compete. Allocated Places: In the interest of the British Championships as an event, allocated places may be awarded per age group, per gender. Any allocated places will follow consultation with the national & pathway squad coaches and the NTTC and be in the interest of the event and also the longer-term development of the TUM programme.
