Next stop at a local restaurant for pizza making lesson and lunch. After lunch continue to Sorrento and check in to your hotel. Evening and dinner at leisure. Meal - (L) Overnight: Sorrento Day 2: Sorrento This morning you will learn the Italian art of pasta making along with some other specialties! Together with a chef learn to prepare dishes such as homemade fresh pasta (sorrentina style - tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese), meat balls in a tomato sauce, baked potatoes and the delizia al limone (typical local lemon cake). Then enjoy your creations for lunch. Meet your local guide for a short walking tour of Sorrento, admiring highlights like the Church of San Antonino and the Cloister of St. Frances, admire views over the coastline and Valley of the Mills, and browse the artisan shops lining the narrow lanes. During tour, stop in A. Gargiulo & Jannuzzi shop to watch a demonstration by a local artisan making traditional wood inlay. Balance of day at leisure to explore on your own. Meal - (B,L) Overnight: Sorrento Day 3: Sorrento & Amalfi After breakfast, depart for Amalfi. Firs you will visit a local farm to learn about the history and practice of growing lemons in the region and also the tradition of paper making. Breathe the fragrance of lemons not yet picked while strolling among the lemon groves and then immerse yourself in the history of paper masters by visiting the Paper Museum, a fascinating place, located inside a still functioning medieval paper mill, where you will discover the tools of work, the production phases and all the curiosities of a hundred-year history that is still carried out by a few artisans. During the tour you will feel like a real paper craft making your own sheet of Amalfi paper. After discovering the production process of the precious craft paper, still in great demand by artists and connoisseurs from all over the world, you will visit our lemon groves and to the laboratory, where you can admire the production of limoncello and taste some local products. Continue into Amalfi where you will meet a local guide for a short walking tour. Wind your way through the town’s romantic streets among the colourful buildings dotting the side of Monte Cerreto. See Saint Andrew’s Cathedral overlooking the Piazza Duomo and wander down Via dei Mercanti and more. Take the rest of the afternoon to explore Amalfi on your own before returning to Sorrento this evening. Meal - (B) Overnight: Sorrento *Note the Lemon farm is a vertical farm and not recommended for anyone with mobility challenges Day 4: Sorrento & Capri Meet your local guide at pier and transfer by hydrofoil to Capri Island. Capri is one of the most famous summer resorts in the Mediterranean and has been so since the time of the ancient Roman Empire. In more modern times, Capri has been a popular place for writers, poets and actors who have given the island a legendary reputation as “the island of love.” The island is rich in history and myth. Its steep cliffs, gorges, caves and turquoise water instil a feeling of wonder. Today you will visit the famous Blue Grotto (by boat), explore the town of Anacapri, take the chairlift up to Mount Solerno and see a demonstration of the beautiful handmade sandals made in Anacapri. Lunch as a local restaurant is included. After lunch have time to explore the town of Capri on your own, before talking the funicular down to the pier to return by hydrofoil to Sorrento. Evening at leisure. Meal - (B,L) Overnight: Sorrento Day 5: Sorrento - Pompeii - Florence This morning you will check out of your hotel and begin the journey to Florence. Along the way, visit to the haunting ruins of Pompeii with a local guide who will take you back to the fateful day in 79 A.D. when neighbouring Mt. Vesuvius erupted, covering the prosperous Roman city in deadly volcanic ash. On your visit to Pompeii you’ll be able to explore the fascinating site, expertly led by our tour guide. You’ll see the Forum, the Thermal Baths, Vetti’s House and the “Lupanare” brothel, all buried by volcanic ashes during the eruption. Then you will learn about the unmistakable uniqueness of the Vesuvian wines and of everything that is cultivated on the Vesuvius is thanks to its exceptional volcanic soil. The Vesuvian volcanic area is the largest of Europe regarding active volcanoes that are still active yet dormant. Enjoy lunch and a wine tasting at a local winery. Next you will continue to Florence. Time permitting, stop en route for a short visit to the famous gardens of Villa D’Este in Tivoli. Upon arrival in Florence, check into your hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure in Florence. Meal - (B,L) Overnight: Florence Day 6: Florence Following breakfast, we begin a guided, half-day morning tour of Florence. Discover the most beautiful squares and monuments of Florence, the "Cradle of the Renaissance". Your guide will take you to discover the center and its main squares, such as Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica and the square of the Cathedral and Baptistery. Visit the Renaissance Cathedral (Duomo) designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and named in honor of Santa Maria del Fiore. Admire the oldest religious site in all of Florence, the Baptistery dedicated to St. John the Baptist. Your guide will also bring you to visit the Pierotucci leather factory to see a short demonstration of the leatherwork that Florence is so famous for. Afternoon at leisure to explore Florence on your own. Recommendations include visits to the Uffizi Gallery and/or Galerie Accademia (to see the David). You may also enjoy wandering through one of the many markets in Florence such as San Lorenzo (Florence’s most famous market) and Mercato Centrale (the food market). Tonight enjoy a wonderful taste of the world of opera. In the beautiful and intimate setting of St Mark’s Church, only a few metres away from the performers, you will be enthralled by the dramatic stories unfolding before Page |2
you. During ‘Love Duets’, two Opera Singers perform duets and arias from "LA TRAVIATA", "LA BOHEME", "THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO", "THE BARBER OF SEVILLE" and "NEAPOLITAN SONGS". Meal - (B) Overnight: Florence *Note: the Opera schedule is not published yet so this may move to a different night. Day 7: Florence & San Gimignano area Spend the day visiting Fattoria San Donato, a small medieval village, found amongst the hills of San Gimignano in the Tuscan countryside. It originates on the pilgrim route La Via Francigena, around a romanesque church. Visit to the cellars with illustration of the peculiarities of the territory, the techniques of vine cultivation (with attention to organic farming), the history of the company and the winemaking methods. Guided tasting of two wines (Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi) and extra virgin olive oil with comparison of different samples. Next will be the preparation of homemade pasta (tagliatelle, ravioli and pici). They will have a room with single stations where you will directly knead, pull and cut the pasta. After will be the preparation of the filling for the pasta, a sauce for the pasta (with aromatic herbs and meat and tomato) and the tiramisu'. During the preparation, the historical origins of Tuscan cuisine, the traditional use of the main ingredients (wine, oil, aromatic herbs, etc.), the correct cooking methods and interesting anecdotes of rural history and culture will be illustrated. Todays visit also includes a buffet lunch. Meal - (B) Overnight: Florence Day 8: Florence & Pisa After breakfast, you will transfer to Pisa to meet your local guide. The Leaning Tower has made Pisa famous all over the world, and in addition to the tower, the city offers many other interesting things to see. The guide will show you the most important squares and monuments of Pisa, the famous Piazza dei Miracoli with the Leaning Tower, the Cemetery and the Cathedral. After the tour and some free time in Pisa transfer back to Florence. Afternoon at leisure to explore Florence more on your own. Given the unique opportunity to discover and explore exclusive essences in an intimate setting, you will then be able to your own personal Eau de Parfum during the session. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a 100 ml bottle of the perfume made with your own unique formula, accompanied by notes on the lesson, details, and perfumery references for further exploration. *Note: Minimum 10 pax for quoted experience. Terms & Conditions Terms and Conditions LAND DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS An deposit of 400.00 of the total tour cost is required at time of booking. Full payment must be received 90 days prior to commencement of services. SHORE EXCURSIONS If your ship is not docking in a specific port for any reason with minimal notice given, we will make all appropriate efforts to work with our suppliers to waive the cancellation fees. Less than 48 hours’ notice may result in cancellation fees, up to the full amount. We strongly urge your passengers to take out travel insurance in case any fees cannot be waived. AIR DEPOSIT REQUIREMENTS - air will be due at the time of booking CANCELATION POLICY $100.00 cancel fee is levied for individual passengers canceling up to 90 days prior to the commencement of Destination Travel Services Inc. services. However, services which have been prepaid by group trip. on behalf of individual clients may be subject to a cancellation fee (e.g. theatre tickets etc.). Passengers canceling within the 60-day period may be charged the following maximum percentages of the tour price: Page |6
90 days prior: 100.00 59 to 0 days prior: 100% SINGLE ROOMS The single supplement rate is quoted on the basis that single rooms shall not exceed approximately 20% if the total rooms required, unless otherwise agreed and confirmed. Some hotels may charge a further fee should the group exceed this configuration. BAGGAGE When porterage of baggage is included in a program, it is based upon a maximum of 1 piece of standard airline baggage per person. Passengers bringing baggage in excess of this amount may incur a surcharge. For the sake of passenger comfort, Tour provider recommends that passengers limit baggage to 1 suitcase per person plus 1 carry on. ITEMS NOT INCLUDED Tour Operator programs do not include items of a personal nature such as laundry, hotel extras, telephone charges and drinks with meals (unless otherwise stated in a proposal). All passengers are responsible for settling such accounts prior to their return to the USA. Airport and airline taxes and fees are not included. TAXES As of the date of this proposal local and central government taxes are included for all services as levied by the governments of the USA and countries visited as specified. In the unlikely event that tax structures are amended at any time prior to the travel date, tour operator will pass on all such additional taxes to the travel agent or group organizer, for collection. Airport and airline taxes and fees are not included. CURRENCY EXCHANGE AND FUEL SURCHARGES All prices are quoted using the prevailing rate of exchange between the Euro and the USD from the date the original offer was made. If the rate of exchange changes by more than 4%, Tour operator reserves the right to revise the selling rates according to the current exchange rate between the Euro and the USD. Destination Travel reserves the right to change the price of the tour/program before it commences due to fuel surcharges, currency fluctuations, tariff increases from common carriers and suppliers, etc. If there is a surcharge to be applied such notice will be given no later than 45 days prior to the start of the tour or program. Tumlare Corporation, Inc. strongly recommends that all passengers be adequately insured for medical expenses, baggage loss or damage and trip cancellation or interruption. This is the responsibility of individual tour participants. Individual coverage is available through our USA offices if required. VISA & PASSPORTS As of the time of going to print, US citizens require a full and valid passport to enter the European Community. Non US Citizens may require an entry visa and should check with the appropriate local consulate offices, allowing good time to complete the necessary paperwork prior to departing the USA. RESPONSIBILITY If Tour Provider has to cancel a tour or is unable to carry out all services due to circumstances beyond our control, we will do all possible to secure services of comparable or better standard or refund all monies in full. Tour provider accepts no responsibility for loss or additional expenses incurred due to delays, changes, omissions or errors made by our suppliers including but not limited to air, sea, ground transportation, war, weather, quarantine and strikes.
