COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION & RESOURCES As of 3/4/2021 11:56 AM UPDATES & MORE Effective March 11, 2021, educators, child care workers and school staff are eligible for vaccine appointments. The first Outer Cape COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic was held at Little Creek in Eastham on Friday. Health departments from Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet and Eastham coordinated with Barnstable County Health, Americorps and the Seashore. Check out this Lower Cape TV video to learn more. An individual who accompanies a person age 75 or older to one of four mass vaccination sites to receive the vaccine will be eligible to receive the vaccine too, if they have an appointment booked. Sign up for vaccine updates at https://www.truro-ma.gov/subscribe and make sure to select "COVID-19 and Vaccine Information” and “Town News & Announcements.” Residents can receive 24-hour advance notice when a Barnstable County Regional COVID-19 vaccine clinic will be opening for registration. FROM THE COMMONWEALTH: Vaccine appointments for eligible groups may be scheduled via the MA online vaccine location map here. Due to high demand and constrained vaccine supply, COVID-19 Vaccination appointments are limited. More appointments will be available based on supply from the Federal Government. Appointments will be added on a rolling basis. PHASE 1 (December 2020- Present) Listed in order of priority: (ELIGIBLE) Clinical and non-clinical health care workers doing direct and COVID-facing care (ELIGIBLE) Long term care facilities, rest homes and assisted living facilities (ELIGIBLE) Emergency medical services, police, and fire (ELIGIBLE) Congregate care settings (ELIGIBLE) Home-based health care workers (ELIGIBLE) Health care workers doing non-COVID-facing care For a complete list and information about who is included in the priority areas, click here. Phase 1 vaccination settings: • Individuals currently eligible for vaccination in Phase 1 can visit mass.gov/CovidVaccineMap to view vaccine locations, including mass vaccination sites, sign-up and eligibility information. Sites will continue to be added with appointments released on a rolling basis. • First responders can visit mass.gov/FirstResponderVaccine for COVID-19 vaccine locations and more information. • Individuals living and working in long term care will be vaccinated as part of the Federal Pharmacy Partnership Program • Staff and residents of congregate care settings, such as shelters and prisons, can visit COVID-19 Vaccinations for Congregate Care Settings. • Many additional vaccination sites will be made available for other populations PHASE 2 (February 2021- March 2021) Listed in order of priority: (ELIGIBLE) Individuals age 75+ (ELIGIBLE) Individuals age 65+, individuals with 2+ comorbidities (only those conditions listed as at increased risk for severe illness), and/or residents and staff of low income and affordable senior housing. • Other workers, including: o Early education, K-12, transit, grocery, utility, food and agriculture, restaurant and cafe workers; o Employees across the food, beverages, agriculture, consumer goods, retail, and foodservice sectors; o Meatpackers; o Sanitation, public works and public health workers; o Vaccine development workers; o Food pantry workers and volunteers; o Transit/transportation: Uber/Lyft/ride share services/pharmacy delivery drivers, workers in the passenger ground transportation industry (e.g. paratransit for people with Disabilities, food delivery, non-urgent medical transport), Massport workers other than police; o Convenience store workers (under grocery workers); o Water and wastewater utility staff Page 4 of 5
COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION & RESOURCES As of 3/4/2021 11:56 AM o Court system workers (judges, prosecutors, defense attorney, clerks), other than court officers who are listed under first responders o Medical supply chain workers Workers at manufacturers (including biotechnology companies and those companies that have shifted production to medical supplies), materials and parts suppliers, technicians, logistics and warehouse operators, printers, packagers, distributors of medical products and equipment (including third party logistics providers, and those who test and repair), personal protective equipment (PPE), isolation barriers, medical gases, pharmaceuticals (including materials used in radioactive drugs), dietary supplements, commercial health products, blood and blood products, vaccines, testing materials, laboratory supplies, cleaning, sanitizing, disinfecting or sterilization supplies (including dispensers), sanitary goods, personal care products, pest control products, and tissue and paper towel products. o Funeral directors and funeral workers o Shipping port and terminal workers • Individuals with one co-morbid condition For a complete list and information about who is included in the priority areas, click here. Phase 2 vaccination settings: • Individuals will get vaccinated either by their employer, primary care physician, pharmacy or public clinic. • Treating clinicians/health systems, health insurers (including MassHealth), and patient advocacy groups will reach out to individuals with co-morbidities to encourage them to receive COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals in the various worker groups will likely be reached via their employers and unions. • At this time, the Department of Public Health is not scheduling appointments directly. PHASE 3 (Starting April 2021) The vaccine is expected to be available to the general public, including: • Higher education workers, including administrators, teaching and non-teaching staff; • Bottled beverage industry workers; • Veterinarians Phase 3 vaccination settings: Once the vaccine is available to the general public, public vaccine clinics will be available on the CDC’s interactive website: vaccinefinder.org. You will also be able to check with your primary care provider, local pharmacy or local health department. The Department of Public Health does not maintain a central sign-up or scheduling system for the vaccine.
