The latest reports suggest that the updated motorcycle will be officially launched sometime in August 2020. The motorcycle is expected to get a minor premium of NRS 50,000 to 70,000 over its BS4 price tag which currently stands at NRS 3.90 lakhs in the Nepalese market.The updated motorcycle variant will be available to the customers in two new colour schemes namely Metallic Black and Racing Blue. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with an all-new LED headlight unit with a bi-functional technology. The BS6 model has been further equipped with a side-stand engine cut-off switch that prevents the rider from starting the motorcycle if the side stand is down. In addition to this, the BS6 Yamaha FZ25 has been equipped with an updated instrument console with a negative LCD.Mechanically, the bike is powered by the similar 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is now BS6-compliant and is capable of offering maximum power of 20.9HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 20Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The performance figures of the BS6 Yamaha FZ25 remain similar to the ones offered by its BS4 counterpart. The braking department is handled by disc brakes at either side mated to dual-channel ABS as before. The suspension setup includes the similar telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit.In addition to the unveiling of the BS6 Yamaha FZ25, the brand has also unveiled the premium variant of the motorcycle that is christened as FZS25 that has been equipped with touring-oriented features. The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 gets a host of new equipment along with the new BS6 compliant engine and new colour schemes as well. Prices will be revealed with the FZ 25’s scheduled launch in April. The new FZS 25 is slated for launch later in the year. Speaking on the occasion, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India said, “Yamaha is determined to provide exciting two-wheeler experiences to the Indian customers, the one that has earned it a name to reckon with in the whole world. The FZ 25 continues to get the muscular styling and will be available in two colour options – Metallic Black and Racing Blue. The new Yamaha FZS 25 will sport all the changes as the FZ 25 but will be offered in Dark Cyan, Dark Blue and Metallic White paint options. The former two colour options will be offered with gold-painted alloy wheels. The updated Yamaha FZ 25 continues to use the same 249 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor that’s now BS6 compliant. Power output remains the same at 20.5 bhp at 8000 rpm and 20.1 Nm of peak torque at 6000 rpm. The motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
