GOLF VIEWS ISSUE 3 2021 COMMUNITY NEWS The residents trust me as their lifeguard and it is my duty to ensure their maximum safety Service providers are the pillars of a thriving community. With a harmonized team working round-the-clock, from cleaners, gardeners, security to electricians, plumbers, pest control staff, like cogs in a well-oiled machine to serve a common goal – resident satisfaction. But every once in a while, a team member elevates his esteem in the community. Hailing from a small village in Bangladesh, Azad Hossain came to Dubai with hopes of providing a better life for his family back home. A trained lifeguard, the 43-year old is extremely passionate about his job. “I wanted to be a lifeguard because of my passion to save lives,” he says. Little did he know this passion would be soon put to the test. Even with the unforgiving June sun blazing down, Azad maintains his post and never loses focus. Which is why he was able to notice the tiny limbs flailing in the pool – a young child was struggling. He rushed to the scene and while her stricken mother looked on helplessly, Azad kept his cool and pulled the child to safety. Because of his quick action, the eight-year-old girl was unharmed and returned to her grateful mother. Hailed as a hero, he modestly says, “I always pay attention, especially when children use the pool. The residents trust me as their lifeguard and it is my duty to ensure their maximum safety.” Your community thanks you, Azad!
