HDFC securities | Commodity Daily GLOBAL MARKET ROUND UP Commodity prices traded mixed on Wednesday with bullion prices ended in red keeping narrow trading range. Crude oil prices held steady on lack of fresh cues on weaker demand and bullish inventory data. Base metals kept mixed trading on China COVID worries and stimulus hopes. The US 10 year bond yields fell to 2.85% from the highest since December 13, 2018. Investors got a fresh glimpse into the Federal Reserve's economic outlook on Wednesday when it issued its "Beige Book" of economic conditions from late February to early April. The central bank reported the economy expanded at a moderate pace during that time, though business reported issues with high inflation and worker shortages. Asian stocks traded mostly higher Thursday as the market pondered a burgeoning debate around whether inflation is peaking that sparked a rally in Treasuries.
HDFC securities | Commodity Daily| BULLION COMEX Gold Spot COMEX Silver Spot Bullion prices traded weak with spot gold prices at COMEX were trading 0.32% down near $1951 per ounce while spot silver prices at COMEX were trading 0.64% down near $25.03 per ounce in the morning trade. Bullion prices kept lower trading range on firm dollar and strong US bond yields. The US Federal Reserve is likely to hike its interest rate larger than expected at its next couple of meetings. We expect bullion prices to trade sideways to down for the day. MCX Gold June resistance for the day at Rs. 52700 per 10 grams with support at Rs. 52200 per 10 grams. MCX Silver May resistance for the day at Rs. 69800 with support at Rs. 67200.
HDFC securities | Commodity Daily| ENERGY MCX Crude Oil April 2022 MCX Natural Gas April 2022 Crude oil prices traded up with NYMEX WTI crude oil prices rose by 0.80% near 103 per barrel on Thursday. Crude Oil prices traded higher but in a narrow range on Thursday, after being rocked earlier in the week by supply losses from Libya and a worrying outlook for demand as the International Monetary Fund cut its global growth forecasts. Libya, a member of OPEC, on Wednesday said the country was losing more than 550,000 barrels per day of oil output due to blockades at major fields and export terminals. We expect crude oil prices to trade sideways to up for the day. MCX Crude Oil May support lies at Rs.7630 per barrel with resistance at Rs. 8130 per barrel. MCX Natural gas April may trade firm with support at Rs. 510 and resistance at Rs. 535.
HDFC securities | Commodity Daily| BASE METALS LME Copper 3M Forward LME Aluminium 3M Forward Base metals prices traded weak with most of the metals kept lower trading range on Thursday morning. Base metals declined on demand worries from China on rising COVID related restrictions. Copper edged lower, signaling the market’s mixed sentiments even after disruptions at mines in Peru raised concerns about tight supplies at a time when inventories are at alarmingly low levels. The expectations of stimulus package from China has capped downside in base metals. Base metals may trade sideways to down for the day. MCX Copper April support lies at Rs. 805 and resistance at Rs. 825. MCX Zinc April support lies at Rs. 367, resistance at Rs. 375. MCX Aluminium April support lies at Rs. 265 with resistance at Rs. 274.
