UMBERTO CLERICI KARIN SCHAUPP & WEDNESDAY 28 MARCH Karin Schaupp Guitar Umberto Clerici Cello Karin Schaupp and Umberto Clerici first shared a concert stage as part of the 2015 Musica Viva Festival, where the combination of guitar and cello proved a major hit. In 2018, these superb musicians bring a program of songs from across five centuries, reimagined for guitar and cello. The program takes the audience on a journey through life, from childhood to a reflection on death and all that comes in between: love, jealousy, family, illness, battles and joys. Musica Viva is pleased to partner with the MHIVC by presenting Ioana Cristina in recital as part of her Prizewinner’s tour of Australasia. Joining her is the outstanding Russian pianist Andrey Gugnin, winner of the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition, making his first appearances for Musica Viva. Program to be announced. 7
