Virtual Work Experience Programme 3 Introduction At the Co-op, we believe it’s vital students don’t miss out on work-based learning opportunities and that’s why we’ve introduced our virtual work experience. Our virtual work experience programme has been designed with students like you in mind – intelligent, curious and enthusiastic. As well as giving you the chance to gain an invaluable overview of the different sectors not only within the Co-op, but also with some of our suppliers, this programme will give you lots of insight into the work we do, our culture and people. Along with providing you with some learning opportunities to enhance your key employability skills. Virtual Work Experience Programme 5 Applications, Skills & Apprenticeships Applications The Co-op Resourcing team will talk through what you could expect from a job application process. This is a great opportunity to learn about the different elements of the application process and it will also provide you with some useful hints and tips which might help you in the future when you come to applying to jobs yourself. The session will cover some of the following areas: • Job application expectations • Good vs. bad CV’s • An application road map – what does the application journey look like when applying for a job Some elements of this session will be interactive to allow you to really understand what is required when applying for a job. Skills The skills session will have a theme of ‘Making decisions about your future’. We’ll provide you with information about: • How to get to know • How to understand • How to overcome • How to make yourself better – what the options available worrying about the most of any you’re good at, what when faced with making perfect opportunity you enjoy and what’s a decision decisions important to you Apprenticeships The session on Apprenticeships will increase your understanding of the different ways that you can start, develop and progress your career without having to continue to college or university to get relevant qualifications. We will talk to you about the different types of apprenticeships both at the Co-op and at other organisations. Did you know you could be an apprentice solicitor, scientist or even jewellery maker? Virtual Work Experience Programme 6 Get into Sessions – Co-op colleagues Information Security Operations Co-op Business Services (CBS) - Source to Pay Andrew Kinder - we keep the Co-op, its colleagues and Paul Wilkins – as part of Source to Pay, we provide services to members safe from cyber attacks. We make sure we have the all of our Co-op. We own and manage the supplier journey with right systems in place to stop most attacks before they get into Co-op, from selecting suppliers to making sure they get paid our network, but also to alert us that do get through so we can correctly and on time.
