Anoka Conservation District City of Anoka Selected as Outstanding Conservationist Each year, Anoka Conservation District (ACD) supervisors consider the work we’ve done in partnership with landowners, cities, private sector partners, and other organizations to complete natural resources conservation work in Anoka County. The list is distilled down to a single conservation partner who most emulates a conservation ethic put to action. That individual or entity is acknowledged as Anoka County’s Outstanding Conservationist. The 2021 Anoka County Outstanding Conservationist is the City of Anoka. The City plans to use fund balance for capital improvements in the general fund as well as increasing the contingency fund in 2022. The General Fund operating expenditure increases are primarily a result of: • Wages, insurance and additional positions $695,530 • Maintenance & repairs (including Garage fund) $191,500 The General Fund budget includes total expenditures in the amount of $13,972,489. The City Council adopted the final levy, including debt levy, on Dec. 20, 2021, in the amount of $7,736,653 which is $290,553 or 3.9% higher than the 2021 levy. Some residential properties with no market value changes may see a small decrease of 1%-2% in city taxes. Cross Country Ski Trails Available Whether you cross country ski for sport, exercise, or fun, the groomed trails at Green Haven Golf Course and the Anoka Nature Preserve are sure to meet your needs. City workers will begin grooming these trails when weather permits. A minimum of six inches of snow is needed to start preparing the trails. Trails will be groomed based on snowfall amounts and use. Green Haven Golf Course provides approximately five kilometers of trail winding around the course looping Waterfowl for Warriors back to the club house.
