It was in Huntly that Helen first created her delicious traditional
shortbread, and her friends and family loved the ‘melt in the
mouth’ sensation.
So popular was the light and crumbly shortbread that in 1992,
Dean’s moved to a new purpose built bakery on the outskirts of Huntly.
Today, Dean’s is still a family run business priding itself on using time honoured handcrafted baking
methods, and is recognised as ‘The Leading Premium Quality Scottish Shortbread’.

10Ex-lawyers turned chocolate entrepreneurs, Helen and
Simon Pattinson, founded Montezuma’s in 2000 hand
making their chocolate with one little machine and one
shop in Brighton. “Since the first moment on the first
day of the first shop, we saw the reaction of our
customers to the small range of chocolates and knew
we had done something right and the risk was worth
it”.

11In 2014 in a little shop in
Camden, London, Mighty
Fine began hand making
their honeycomb.
It was so popular that they
shut up shop, perfected
the recipe and set out to
become the undisputed
kings of Honeycomb.
Six years later, they are continuing to build the brand with a
wider range of products, but all still made the same way. Every
treat puts a spring in your step, a smile on your face and knocks

12It was in 1987 a year after buying
an existing bakery and
confectionery business based in Market Drayton that
‘Image on Food’ produced their first gingerbread novelty
biscuits, and, that is all because their two year old
daughter asked them to bake her a gingerbread “pig”
with an iced pink curly tail!! They had trialled different
recipes over a period of time, and, whilst they made these to sell in their shop and local market
stalls, they got noticed. After a local tourist attraction requested 700 biscuits and sold out within 3
weeks... they realised that they had found a niche market! Still running a busy bakers shop the
gingerbread was produced alongside the baking of the bread, morning goods, highly decorated
cakes and gateaux’s.

13The Real Norfolk Cake Company are a small bakery located in Downham
Market, Norfolk. They resurrect old traditional British recipes as well as
producing their own creations; one of which being this wonderful Round
Norfolk Christmas Cake. All their cakes are hand crafted.

from an early age and watching their Grans make their

15Bookham & Harrison are a family run business located
on the Surrey/Sussex boarder at Rudgwick. Bookham
Harrison Farms forms part of a larger farming enterprise,
with its main focus being dairy and the milking of 1200 cows.
Passionate about farming from an early age, Rob Bookham studied Agriculture at Plumpton College,
under the South Downs near Lewes and Brighton. He soon developed an interest in farm
diversification, which led him to forge links with an Italian family who owned an estate in mid
Sussex. He became closely involved with their Vegetarian Parmesan production, going on to manage
the Twineham Grange Estate. Rob was a pioneer in the late 90's of Farmers' Markets in the
Southeast. He is deeply committed to working with other producers in sustaining British Agriculture.

16The walnuts come from an estate that is made up of just under 1000 acres on the west side of the
South Downs National Park in Hampshire. The traditional landscape of rolling hills and woodland is
put to farming both arable and livestock and their forests are classed as ancient as they have existed
for over 400 years. As part of an ongoing forest & woodland management system they planted 570
walnut trees in 2010 which they’re now able to harvest. Before long they will producing 60 tonnes of
Walnuts every year!

By ordering any goods from Love for Local the customer accepts these conditions of sale:
PRICES
The prices of Love for Local goods are those specified in this brochure, unless otherwise agreed.
All prices are exclusive of VAT except where specified
CARRIAGE CHARGES
The minimum order value for free delivery is £100 (Net of VAT). Any order under this level will incur
a £10 delivery charge.
PAYMENT
Payment for the goods by approved account customers must be made within 30 days of the date of
invoice. Goods will not be dispatched if the account is not held up to date.
All overdue accounts may be subject to charges related to the costs of debt collection.
Property of the goods will not pass to the customer until the monies owing to Love for Local have
been made in full.
DELIVERY
Delivery and the customer’s acceptance of the goods shall be deemed to have taken place upon the
occurrence of a signed delivery note by the customer or any independent carrier.
RETURNS
No goods shall be returned without prior acceptance of Love for Local. Credit cannot be given for
damaged or price marked goods.
DELIVERY DISCREPANCIES
Upon receipt of goods the customers have two working days to advise Love for Local of any damages
or discrepancies that have arisen. Goods will be collected by Love for Local before a credit note is
given.
CANCELLATION OF GOODS
If you wish to cancel an order or any items you must notify Love for Local in writing 48 hours in
advance of delivery, and Love for Local must confirm any changes.
