Telepractice Committee Dear Fellow SHAV Members, It is with great enthusiasm that I announce that this summer an ad hoc committee on telepractice was created. Over the last few months, we have been identifying members who would like to serve on the Telepractice Committee. Currently, the committee members are Joyce Sunday, Lora Nalberczinski, Patti Minicucci, and Adrienne Krouskop. Our goals are to: 1. Develop a network of SLPs in the state who are interested in and/or who are currently providing telespeech and telesupervision services. 2. Acquire information about how other states are guiding, implementing and regulating telepractice/telesupervision in other states. 3. Work with ASHA for direction and support. 4. Draft language for a position statement on telepractice/telesupervision for consideration by the SHAV Executive Board. 5. Work with Executive Board, ASHA, and Leslie Knachel from DHP to develop draft licensure requirements/regulations for telepractice and telesupervision. We have been working with Cheris Frairly from ASHA, and have been in contact with other state association Telepractice Committees to help us understand the road ahead. We will be meeting at the SHAV Conference this March. If you have any interest, questions or suggestions to share about telepractice in our state, please join us! More information about the meeting time and place will be announced in the Conference program.
