MESSAGE FROM GYMNASTICS BC Brian Forrester, CEO, Gymnastics BC On behalf of Gymnastics BC, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2019 Gymnastics BC WAG JO Compulsory Championships. We are proud to host this event for the first time ever, alongside Langley Gymnastics Foundation at the Langley Events Centre! Gymnastics BC has provided leadership in the development and expansion of gymnastics throughout the province since 1969. Our sport equips all participants with important skills such as balance, strength and flexibility that can be transferred to all other athletic disciplines. This is the first year we've introduced the compulsory event, demonstrating some of the best qualities of our sport: spirited competition, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the drive to achieve goals. This event would not be possible without the support of the local community. Thank you to our dedicated team of volunteers, who have donated countless hours to make this event a reality. Thank you also to our sponsors; your support ensures the continued success of our event and enables Gymnastics BC to host this competitions of this caliber year after year. To our co-host, Langley Gymnastics Foundation: we are proud to partner with you to deliver such a wonderful event. We are honoured to add you to our roster of outstanding club hosts. Lastly, to the competitors: this event is for you! The Gymnastics BC WAG JO Compulsory Championships represents a significant milestone on your athletic journey and is the direct result of your passion, dedication and commitment to the sport of gymnastics. To the coaches, officials, managers, parents and supporters: thank you for continuing to champion our sport in your community and beyond. Enjoy your time in Langley, and we look forward to seeing you next year! Cheers, Brian Forrester, CEO, Gymnastics BC

MESSAGE FROM LANGLEY GYMNASTICS FOUNDATION James Macdonald, Langley Gymnastics Foundation On behalf of the entire Langley Gymnastics family, and Gymnastics BC, we would like to welcome you to this event. We are very excited to host the inaugural BC Championship for JO 1-5 athletes, held at the Langley Events Centre. As many of you know, the athletes competing at this event have put in an exceptional amount of time and effort in order to prepare themselves for events such as this one. These athletes could not, however, achieve their goals without the hard work of their coaches and the time and sacrifice of their parents. Even though gymnastics is considered an individual sport there is a real team effort in order to have these athletes ready to perform. I would like to thank all of our Langley Gymnastics staff, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, Gymnastics BC staff, and the Langley Events Centre staff for their contributions to this event. Many individuals have put in countless hours of work over the past few months and it’s these people that making hosting events such as this possible. The skill and athleticism that will be on display this weekend is truly extraordinary. I invite you to cheer on not only your athlete, but all the others competing to show them your support and appreciation. Thank you, James Macdonald Langley Gymnastics Foundation Board Chair
