Those intending to take photographs at the Championship will be asked to complete a registration form. PACE OF PLAY & ‘READY GOLF’ The Union and its four Provincial Branches will enforce a unified pace of play condition (see No. 6 in the General Rules for Union and Provincial Championships in the Tournament Conditions Book). It is essential that all familiarise themselves with the procedures, shot timings and penalties that are applicable under this condition. The Championship Committee encourages players to play “Ready Golf” in all Stroke Play rounds. Simply put, "ready golf" means that each golfer within a group hits when ready – provided it is safe to do so. Examples of Ready Golf include:
• Hitting a shot when safe to do so if a player farther away faces a difficult shot and takes time to assess options. • Shorter hitters playing first from the tee or fairway if longer hitters have to wait. • Hitting a tee shot if the person with the honour is delayed in being ready to play. • Hitting a shot before helping someone to look for a lost ball. • Putting out even if it means standing close to someone else’s line. • Hitting a shot if a person who has just played from a greenside bunker is still farthest from the hole but is delayed due to raking the bunker. • When a player’s ball has gone over the back of a green, any player closer to the hole but chipping from the front of the green should play while the other player is having to walk to their ball and assess their shot. • Marking scores upon immediate arrival at the next tee, except that the first player to tee off marks their card immediately after teeing off. PRACTICE All tee reservations must be made by contacting the Pro Shop directly on 01 6408736 Practice outside of the official practice round is entirely at the discretion of the host club. During the official practice round, players must not play more than one ball from tee to green. The Championship Committee reserve the right to withdraw the entry of any player failing to observe this directive. PRIZE PRESENTATION The Presentation of Prizes will take place approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of play. In fairness to all competitors, to the many volunteers and to the host club, all final-day competitors are requested and required to attend the presentation. REGISTRATION Registration for the Championship shall be available in the Club House.
