The September 2019 • volume 16 • issue 9 Inside This Issue... Cedars Post AAAT LAAST by Kathy Burk One of the wildest places left on earth........................ 2 The DuBose expansion has been Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest 3D opened. And it’s very nice. and Lunch at the Irregardless Café 35,000 square feet have been added, more than doubling the DuBose Health Center. The open End of summer cookout!... 4 house on Thursday, August 8, Celebrate Labor Day with Wilton showed us a beautiful airy space—two neighborhoods (or wings), Pine and Dubois, Steel Drums; Randy Evans, Oak, with a two-story high hallway running through. The high windows in Guitar and Joel Key, Keyboards and the hallway let in plenty of sunlight. There are 30 new, large rooms, 15 in each Bass Guitar neighborhood. Six of these rooms are in three suites (or flex rooms); each suite has two sizable rooms, a very large bathroom, and an entry area, and can be used by one or two Members. Each new neighborhood has its own dining Harvest Your Health........ 5 room with a view of the outdoors, and a living room. There is a satellite prep kitchen that will be shared by both neighborhoods keeping all meals served Community Health Fair from the main kitchen at DuBose hot and fresh. There is a large activity area that can be used for movies, lectures, and other group activities. It’s a versatile space. We saw it set with handsome tables and chairs used to serve refreshments. A combination of tables and chairs can be stacked and stored allowing for a variety of space for programs, some of which might be ones we now hold in the Clubhouse Ballroom, giving more flexibility for scheduling group activities. And there is a new courtyard, with both covered seating and a lawn area, accessible from both of the new neighborhoods. Each large bedroom has a window and its own AC and heat, so temperature can be controlled by the Member. Each room includes a large bathroom with toilet and walk-in/roll-in shower and storage in the bathroom. The showers have both high and low showerheads that can be handheld. A large closet in the bedroom provides plenty of storage. Even the floors are nice—hard surfaced and not slippery. The primary care clinic has not been forgotten. There is a new reception area and four new examination rooms. There is a new large physical therapy room with windows and plenty of room for Members to do their therapy and a big closet to store equipment that is not in use. The therapists’ offices are on the other side of a glass partition.
