The Need A Redesign Was Needed to Clarify their Messaging “Our website is pitching our business to 100-1000x more people than we do in meetings. We basically wanted a facelift that clarified the messaging. We needed to better explain what we are offering and the “ advantages of our product.” We had quite a technical approach, but we didn’t have enough visuals to communicate what we were doing. Karlsson built the company’s original website himself using Webflow.com. “I have a slight background in web develop- ment, but I’m not a professional,” he said. “We had quite a technical approach, but we didn’t have enough visuals to commu- Old homepage design nicate what we were doing.” Ynvisible’s biggest need was being able to com- municate the unique value of their products. Their products are based on the phenomenon of Electrochromism. This is where a material changes color when a voltage is applied. But explaining how their products used this tech- nology for the benefit of their customers was a challenge. Old color palette Case Study for 2021 Website Redesign 3
The Solution Homepage Animations Were Used to Showcase Key Prod- uct Features Karpi Design Studio was chosen for their ad- vanced skill in creating websites with Web- flow. The Webflow platform is known for Made in Webflow it’s ability to create high performance sites. This translates into more website traffic, more conversions and a better user experience. Main- tenance is easier too thanks to on-page editing capabilities. Karlsson’s focus was on customizing their homepage. He wanted to repur- pose content from an existing Ynvisible video to showcase key product features. For example, a lemon is used as a con- ductor to complete a circuit that acti- vates an electrochromic message. This shows how Ynvisible products have the lowest energy consumption on the mar- ket for most use-cases. And that their products are ideal for battery-driven or battery-less IoT devices. Another animation shows how Ynvis- ible’s clients can experiment with dif- ferent shapes, forms, and colors. Their thin and flexible products enable end- less design freedom. Letters, symbols, numbers, and graphic elements are all possible. Color filters and other static graphic elements can easily be printed on top of the display. And any cut-out New homepage design shape is possible. Case Study for 2021 Website Redesign 4
Ynvisible’s roll-to-roll screen-printing processes are shown in the next ani- mation. This high-volume production method drives down the cost of indi- vidual displays with faster production while maintaining premium quality. This lets them deliver ultra-low-cost mass production at both the compo- nent and system level. A hammer is shown hitting one of their displays in the next animation. This demonstrates how their display continues to function normally under impact. A conventional glass display is hit by the same hammer showing how easily it can be broken. Brand Guide New homepage design Karpi Design defined the typeface and modernized the color scheme. To give the logo a modern look, they added a color gradient to modernize it. Updat- ed brand guidelines were implemented on the website and across all marketing channels. Color palette and brand guide Typeface Case Study for 2021 Website Redesign 5
The Results The New Website Works Like a High-performance Sales Tool “The feedback from clients so far has been great,” said Karlsson. The new Ynvisi- ble site has been well received, both internally and externally. He especial- ly liked how Karpi Design Studio was able to reuse their existing content to improve how the site looks and com- municates visually. “ They not only understand design, but also how important perfor- mance is and how to communicate copywriting and visual assets as a whole package. The new site now doubles as a Pow- erPoint presentation that the Ynvisi- ble team can use in business meetings. Visitors can easily find the informa- tion they need to understand Ynvisible products. While it’s still too early to know how much the new website will impact their business due to Covid-19, Karlsson be- lieves their new site is certainly a big advantage. But at the same time, they are really efficient. They don’t waste a lot of hours doing unnecessary stuff. It’s a quite streamlined process.” Finally, when asked if he would recommend Karpi Design Studio to another company, Karls- son said, “It’s quite certain that you will get a high-quality website developed by experts.” SEE IT FOR YOURSELF Check out the live site now!
