RESPONSIVE • PROFESSIONAL • LIFE ENRICHING The School of Continuing Education provides high quality, accessible programs and services in response to community needs. Our programs are offered as lifelong learning opportunities for individuals who want to enrich their cultural experiences, enhance their professional or occupational skills. Courses are available during the day, evening, weekend and online. Our lifelong learning courses encompass a wide range of activities and interests, such as: arts and crafts, personal enhancement, health, physical fitness and sports, performing arts and global awareness. Additional educational opportunities include specialized courses that fulfill state licensing and professional certification requirements and computer technology training. Youth development is a special focus area for the School. Among our programs are the Kids’ College, summer camps, career exposure and the youth enhancement series. These classes are designed to be funfilled, academically challenging and enriching. Continuing Education specializes in providing ShortTerm Certificate programs that offer new training opportunities based on the changing economy and the need for retraining and skill building. Such offerings include Advanced Computer Technology, Human Resources Specialist, Computerized Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Grant Writing, Grant Management, Office Support Specialist, and NonProfit Management. The School is committed to the provision of excellence. Our staff and instructors have collective expertise in a wide range of subject matter and course content. Wayne County Community College District STUDENT RETURN TO CAMPUS GUIDELINES PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY Students and employees are expected to follow all college safety guidelines. PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING • Stay 6 feet apart when possible and do not congregate. • Limit group gatherings and observe social distancing in the hallways and atrium. • Abide by capacity limitations determined by the College in classrooms, labs, and meeting spaces. WEAR FACIAL COVERING AND SHIELD Face masks/face coverings must be worn properly by all persons inside college facilities. In these cases, shield will be provided to faculty and students. Per CDC guidelines, face shields should not be used as a substitute for face coverings. Instead, shields may be used in addition to face coverings as an extra layer of protection when direct contact is unavoidable and/or social distancing is not possible. HAND HYGIENE • Wash hands frequently and use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available. • Avoid touching your face, eyes, and nose. • Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. GLOVES Some faculty may require students to wear gloves in the classroom and/or lab, depending on the nature of the class (e.g. working with high-touch equipment). Good hand hygiene should be completed immediately following glove removal. DISINFECT EQUIPMENT Clean and disinfect all equipment between uses. Disinfectant supplies are provided by the College.
