14 INTERVIEW What do you find unique in the Qatari Culture? More than unique, what I find interesting about Qatari culture is the numerous similarities it has to the culture in my home province on NL, Canada. While the land mass and population are much different, there are still many small villages in Qatar that are now abandoned as its inhabitants have moved to bigger villages or cities, much the same as the resettlement that has taken place in NL. (For comparison, the land mass of NL is about 35 times larger than Qatar, but the population of Qatar is approximately 5 times that of NL.) The importance of family and pride in their country are also areas where Michele with Dr. Salem Al-Naemi our two cultures are incredibly similar. I only wish NL during the appreciation event had a little of Qatar’s heat. Our College is turning very soon into a National Applied University. How do you feel about this?
