PROGRAMME Tuesday 17 April 2018 continued Quickfire insights on the latest innovations INNOVATION INTERVAL I POP-UP PRESENTATIONS 11.15 Our first interval which includes a series of innovations – delivered in a quickfire format. FORUM DEBATE THE (MULTI)CHANNEL TUNNEL: A ROAD TO NOWHERE? 11.45 Many rightsholders are moving away from exclusive, single distributor deals and embracing the multi-channel route to retailing tickets. We’ve seen Major League Soccer embrace an API-based model where the league’s clubs can sell their tickets anywhere and at anytime – with all the data flowing back to the teams and league. The risks are greater, but the rewards greater still. But we’ve also seen Amazon come unstuck in its quest for inventory, despite its offer to remove some of the industry’s key pain points (such as booking fees). What kind of deals are working and what needs to change? What can we learn from the wider world of online retail and digital transformations? We welcome our panellists: • Daniel Gidney, Chief Executive, Lancashire Cricket Club and Emirates Old Trafford, UK • Carolyn Sims, Marketing Director, English National Opera, UK • Neetu Bhatia, Co-Founder & CEO, Kyazoonga.com, India • Fred de Graaf, Commercial Director, DG Theater Group, The Netherlands INNOVATION INTERVAL II POP-UP PRESENTATIONS 12.35 Stay seated for more quickfire innovations - scorecards at the ready et! 13.15 LUNCH in The Marketplace Don’t forg ct ce to colle Last chan c kets rds ti your Awa 7

THE TICKETING BUSINESS FORUM 2018 Tuesday 17 April 2018 continued the world of Insights from g 14.45-16.00 THE LANCASTER SUITE sports ticketin SPORTS & STADIUM TICKETING #1 We drill down into some of the key issues in sports ticketing and showcase new solutions and emerging best practices. Hosted by our expert moderator: • Paul Williamson, Managing Director, Sports Ink Associates, UK 14.45 CHANGES The Evolving Landscape for Sports Ticketing The level and method of interaction between sports fan and club is undergoing radical reconfiguration. The era of once-a-year season ticket renewals has been replaced with an e-commerce approach encompassing on-demand offers and flexible ticketing packages with a range of segmented products. How does a cricket club – with long established approaches to ticket sales and member communications – transition to this digital-first era? Beyond cricket, the demands of a multi-use venue which hosts other sports, international concerts, conferences and non-matchday events have required that the team at Emirates Old Trafford re-evaluate its approach to ticketing, e-commerce and data. Outlining their journey to date: • Justin Hopwood, Sales & Marketing Director, Lancashire Cricket Club/Emirates Old Trafford • Jonathon Nuttall, Head of Cricket Sales, Lancashire Cricket Club/Emirates Old Trafford 15.10 SYSTEM MIGRATION Phases of Play Anyone who has been through a ticketing system migration has a story to tell. Adopting a new ticketing system involves more than a change of technology. The technology is often the least challenging aspect, as new system requirements and tools will invariably impact how people work. Having a phased approach to migration provides the opportunity to minimise risk whilst allowing time for adoption, education and skills transfers. Change management and user adoption can be enhanced through various activities including: feedback sessions; early immersion in training, a test lab, user acceptance test, and onsite coaching. • Richard Hilton, Head of Customer Success, SecuTix, UK • Jonathon Nuttall, Head of Cricket Sales, Lancashire Cricket Club/Emirates Old Trafford 15.35 NO OFF-SEASON Success Brings Challenges We round off our first sports session with a look into one of the most successful Danish football clubs: FC København of Copenhagen. Only 25 years old, the club has been a leader in its home market. Playing at the 38,000-capacity Telia Parken national stadium offers lots of inventory but brings challenges on those long winter nights with less glamorous fixtures and lower ticket prices overall. Season ticket base has been growing year on year and the club has had great success with its family stand. Today season ticket sales continue on a rolling basis – there’s no off-season for the marketing team. Down the line, CRM is being evaluated but more immediately the sales and marketing team are looking into data insight tools and data warehousing. • Mikkel Bjerre, Ticketing & Customer Service Manager, F.C. København, Denmark 16.00 AFTERNOON BREAK in The Marketplace – with thanks to 10
PROGRAMME Tuesday 17 April 2018 continued Blockchain: Should we dare to dream...? 16.30-17.45 THE POINT ADVENTURES IN BLOCKCHAIN EXPLORING THE POSSIBILITIES Blockchain promises key improvements, efficiencies and more security in how we sell, distribute and utilise tickets. Often misunderstood but there’s an increasingly positive outlook about the rise of blockchain. But, are we possibly blinkered to its limitations and problems? Through the latest case studies we’ll explore if these can be solved and examine if (and when) blockchain will be an established pivoting technology for entertainment ticketing. Session hosted by: • Steve Machin, CEO, Accent Media, UK With the contributions from the following panellists: • David Franklin, Head of Ticketing Tech & Marketing, Paléo Festival Nyon, Switzerland • Andy Grant, CTO, Aventus Protocol Foundation, UK • Philip Shaw-Stewart, Co-Founder & COO, BitTicket, UK pressure and Will consumer ring change? 16.30-17.45 THE LANCASTER SUITE political will b CONSUMER ISSUES LEGAL MATTERS The power of the consumer has never been greater and the issues around ticketing never more public. Are we seeing the rise of effective legislation to tackle the sector’s or are the politicians just fuelling the flames of consumer unrest? Traditional ticketing companies have developed by buying the rights for long contracts with sign-on fees. This led to recurring revenues and growing EBITDA’s. Open-API distribution platforms typically do not offer sign-on fees or long contracts – and are valued across customer lifetime valuations (like other SaaS businesses).
