CAMP BAR-V-NOK IS BACK The Camp Barvnok Society was formed in the fall of 2016 to revitalize the Camp Barvnok property, located on the shores of Pigeon Lake, in the Summer Village of Golden Days. The camp was started in 1953, by a group of dedicated and determined community volunteers, and it is that Ukrainian determination, that has allowed Camp Barvnok to flourish for over 65 years. Camp Barvnok offers a summer camp program, where children from the ages of 7-15, have an opportunity to learn various aspects of the Ukrainian culture, and enjoy the outdoors in a beautiful lakefront setting. This hidden little gem, that many around the community have never heard of, is also available for rentals to other groups such as schools, youth groups, family reunions, and weddings in our beautiful little church that was built in 1929. Through the month of August, Camp Barvnok is holding a “Month of Giving” campaign to help with maintenance costs, as well as adding some much needed improvements such as a zipline, climbing wall, and other activities. There will also be a draw for a few prizes at the end of the month to thank all of our donors. Visit www.barvnok.com to support our efforts, and our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CampBarVNok) to learn more about Camp Barvnok. We truly appreciate any support from the community, and hope to see you at Camp Barvnok soon. The Veterans Coalition Party of Canada Registered 2019 We would like to take the opportunity to announce that Canadians have a true alternative for Federal elections. Canadians can now go to the polls with the knowledge that there is a party free of corporate donors, and elite lobbyist control. We are a true grassroots party with no career politicians, or corporate lawyers in the mix. Veterans Coalition Party of Canada (VCP) was founded by veterans who believe that they must once again defend Canadian citizens, to protect the values, and way of life that Canadians hold dear. They are joined by First Nations, First Responders, and conscientious citizens who feel the need to stand up and offer Canada real representatives, both in Parliament and the House of Commons, instead of dictatorial leadership. These veterans have once again answered the call. Most Canadians can agree our system is broken. Pleas for equal representation for the western provinces have been ignored. Our elected representatives have NO CHOICE but to vote for whatever their party leader dictates, or risk running as an independent. The VCP are MANDATED to vote for what their constituents want, thus giving them their voices back every day, not just election day. TRUTH, DUTY, HONOUR, ACCOUNTABILITY, and INTEGRITY These ideals mean everything to the VCP which is why every candidate has/had to sign a legally binding contract. Lie to your constituents, or ignore your constituent’s wishes, equals removal from the party. That assurance is nonexistent with the big four Corporation Parties of Canada. Let’s face an ugly realization, the election is over before Manitoba has fully counted their vote tally, because most of the seats are in Ontario and Quebec. So, the excuse of splitting a vote makes zero sense! Making a positive change in our broken system is extremely difficult, but no different than buying a lottery ticket, “you won’t win without playing”. How can constituents make a change after election day when their voices are silenced by a dictator party leader? “Vote for the Conservatives, they are the least corrupt party.” Yes, someone actually said that to me! I, myself, believe a vote for any corrupt party condones the very corruption we have all seen unfold over the decades with the Hamster Wheel of Liberals, and Conservatives taking turns. NDP, and Green sided with the Liberals, and voted down stiffer penalties for illegal weapons use! WHERE IS THE LOGIC? They also voted against pay cuts. 2020 MP’s received a 3% pay raise each year for the next four years. The basic MP wage is $186,000.00 a year. Your current incumbent has been sitting for twelve years in parliament, it doesn’t take a math major to figure out how well he has done financially. He can lose his seat this September, and sleep well THE WARBURG BUGLE media@community39.com 780-887-0077 AUGUST 27, 2021 EDITION #302
knowing he can retire with a Golden Pension, while the rest of us regular people have to work a lifetime for a meager pension. Ask yourself, “What has your incumbent done for your community over those twelve years, and do you believe you are getting our money’s worth!?” Every party put out platforms, the VCP’s platform is what their constituents suggest. Some of the suggestions from constituents in Devon, Leduc, Calmar, Beaumont, Thorsby, Breton, and Sunnybrook have made are: Freeze foreign aid for four years (Case in point; 2 billion to India for affordable housing.) Why not invest in Canada? Revamp our tax system. The top percent pay little to no tax due to tax loopholes. Stop giving billions to huge corporations that make billions in profits each year. (Cases in point: Installation of new freezers at Loblaws, more tax dollars to Canadian Tire to install charging stations.) These are just a few, YOU, THE PEOPLE ARE THE VCP PLATFORM. We have to start somewhere, we have to start NOW! It will take years to clean up the mess our grandchildren’s children will inherit. Wait and see how the Conservatives do? Another four years? When do we start to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, and elect a Representative of the Constituents? (I dislike the word politician, because it spews LIAR.) Who would you trust with your family’s future? A lawyer, and/or career politician, OR a Veteran, or First Responder willing to sign a contract of accountability? The choice is yours. I am asking the 32% of the population who do not vote because they feel that they have no viable choice, that their vote does not make a difference, and their voices are not represented after election day to look into the VCP. TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
