British and Portuguese Defence Industries Partnering Workshop - Lisbon, 23 May 2019 16 ROLATUBE Steve Mogg Business Development ManagerTT Rolatube Unit 130 Wellworthy Road, Ampress Park, Lymington, Hampshire, SO41 8JY +44 (0)7734 811003 sm@rolatube.com www.rolatube.com RolaTube Technology’s proprietary Bi-stable Reeled Composite (BRC) technology has revolutionised the field of communications, surveillance and inspection. Uniquely, BRCs are stable whether coiled or extended. This allows a user to carry a five metre communications mast as a 20 x 26 cm roll weighing around 5kg. This type of mast is much faster and easier to set up and take down than traditional telescopic and sectional masts. It is also far smaller and lighter - critical requirements for challenging environments including defence, nuclear and space. The RolaTube mast can withstand harsh environments and is certified to MIL-STD-810G. In Afghanistan the RolaTube mast allowed Electronic Countermeasures (ECM) equipment designed to prevent attacks with IEDs to be taken off vehicles and carried by troops on foot for the first time. Our latest Integrated Antenna Masts further enhance the advantages of the technology. This unique solution integrates a high performing antenna into the structure of the BRC mast. This allows quick set up of communications with considerably less weight and complexity than a traditional antenna system.
