Fellow Oakland Residents, I am truly honored to be serving you as Mayor of Oakland. The Borough of Oakland is a community that holds a big part of my heart. Neighbors know neighbors and our volunteers are the backbone of the community. Our residents and local community organizations support each other, especially in times of need. As 2020 comes to an end, I think back and reflect on what a year this has been! Who would have thought, as we entered into 2020, we would have been faced with a highly contagious coronavirus disease. In the true spirit of Oakland, our community united and together we continue to fight this disease. Preventive measures such as social distancing, the wearing of face-masks in public, routine PICTURED LEFT TO RIGHT hand washing, testing, and self-monitoring and quarantining when exposed, all help to control the virus.
