WHAT IS BLACK WATER DIVING?
Blackwater diving is an extraordinary new way of night diving!
The concept is simple: It’s a night dive in deep open ocean where divers simply hang out under on top of
very deep water with no other reference than a downline fitted with powerful lights. Blackwater dives
give us the opportunity to encounter marine life never seen on our usual dives, such as all types of larvaes
and baby fish, crabs or shrimps still floating mid water until they are strong enough to settled down on
the reef or deep sea creatures who will never visit a reef such as the Paper Nautilus above.
Itinerary: 7 Black Water DIVES + 11 day dives
We have found some pretty fantastic black water diving spots last season and in only 5 exploratory "black
Water dives" we have met some creatures rarely spotted anywhere in the world such as juvenile tripod
fish, juvenile sailfish, paper nautilus and so much more.
So we will take you back to these dive sites for 2 dives per day but stay nearby to some of
Thailand's best dive sites in the Andaman Sea for our two dives during the days!
We will start the cruise in Ranong, easily reachable by an hour flight from Bangkok and make our 1st dives on
Thailand's #1 dive site: Richelieu Rock and then go south in Similan National park to explore Koh Bon and Koh Tachai.
The plan is to do 2 dives per day during the day and two black water dives per night.
A typical day would be:
2 day dives : 9am breakfast, 11am first dive, 12pm lunch, 3pm 2nd dive, 4pm snack
2 Black Water dives : 7pm 4th dive, 8h30pm dinner, 10h30pm 4th dive, sleep & repeat

Who is it for
You just got an underwater camera and want to learn how to use it? You wish to understand underwater
photography principles better? You are an advanced underwater photographer and want to improve your
skills or try new challenges? This cruise is for you!
Not only will you dive on some of the most beautiful dive sites in Thailand but you will learn all the right
photo technics to go home with the best souvenirs.
Itinerary: RICHELIEU +++
This itinerary will focus on Richelieu Rock (Thailand's #1 dive site) where we will 3.5 days.
We will also explore Koh Bon and Koh Tachai in Similan National park for a chance to encounter Giant
oceanic Mantas. Not only will you have some fantastic dives and photos but this cruise is also your chance
to try Black Water diving!
The itinerary will look like this, but we will remain flexible in case we hear of a Whale Shark or Manta
sighting nearby!
22nd of January: departure from Tap Lamu pier around 6 pm, cruise by night to Richelieu Rock
23rd of January: 3 day dives at Koh Bon + 1 black water dive
24th of January: 3 day dives at Richelieu rock + Sunset dive
25th of January: 3-day dives at Richelieu rock + 1 night dive
26th of January: 3 dives at Richelieu + 1 black water dive
27th of January: 3 day dives at Koh Tachai + 1 black water dive
28th 2 more dives at Koh Bon and back to Tap Lamu / Khao Lak in the evening

You want to be one of the citizen scientists to record them in the wild? This cruise is for you!
Not only will you dive on some of the most beautiful dive sites in Thailand but you will share this cruise
with Thailand Whale Shark specialist: Kirsty Magson!
Itinerary: Surin & Similan
This itinerary will focus on Richelieu Rock (Thailand's #1 dive site) as well as Koh Bon and Koh Tachai and
a few other dive sites in Similan National park for our highest chances to encounter Whale Sharks.
Not only will you have some fantastic dives but this cruise is also your chance to try Black Water diving!
The itinerary is not fixed, we will remain flexible in case we hear of a Whale Shark or Manta sighting nearby!
We plan 4 dives per day (including 1 sunset or night dive), 4 meals and a presentation per day.
Kirsty, our special guest on this trip is a Marine biologist and ocean conservationist, she will be happy to answer all
the questions you may have about whale Sharks and the many other species she is passionate about...

Itinerary: North & SOuth Andaman
This itinerary will focus on The Andaman Sea best spots to see Oceanic Manta rays such as Koh Bon and
Koh Tachai in the Similan National park And Hin Daeng Hin Muang in Koh Lanta National Park but we will
also visit other amazing dive sites in the North and South Andaman Sea such as Richelieu Rock.
Not only will you have some fantastic dives but this cruise is also your chance to try Black Water diving!
The itinerary is not fixed, we will remain flexible in case we hear of a Whale Shark or Manta sighting nearby!
We will get onboard in Chalong on the 13th of February at 6pm and plan 4 dives per day (including 1 sunset or night
dive), 4 meals and a presentation per day. We will be back on land on the 21st at 6pm in Tap Lamu pier.
