BERL N International Shoulder Course 2021 BERLIN, GERMANY JANUARY 7–9 Reconstructive Shoulder Surgery – Where do we stand? PROGRAM PARTICIPATE FROM HOME!
Advanced W E LC O M E A D D R E S S healing solutions Dear colleagues and friends, due to the coronavirus pandemic the Berlin International Shoulder Course (BISC) has been Maximizing healing potential postponed to January 7th – 9th, 2021. This date is fixed so please put it into your agenda! Two aspects are clear – first, we won´t be back to a normal life in early 2021 and second, BISC will be the first international shoulder event in the upcoming year. These two facts motivate us to provide you an educational event of high- est scientific quality after the New Year Holidays. REGENESORB◊ Material It is time to reflect and ask ourselves what we really have achieved during Replaced by bone within 24 months.*1 the last decades using new technologies, sophisticated implants, and so-called “modern surgical techniques”. What have been the true mile- stones of arthroscopic and open shoulder reconstructive procedures at 18 months at 6 months including rotator cuff repair, instability surgery, AC-Joint reconstruction etc.? A second focus of BISC will be the management of complications. With Comparisons of absorption, measured increasing numbers of primary interventions, revision surgery still rep- via μCT, at 6 and 18 months.2 resents an underestimated problem that is mainly solved in specialized centers. Diagnostic strategies and therapeutic options including salvage procedures will be presented during the meeting. Video demonstrations, re-live surgeries and mini-battles with international and national experts will complement the scientific lectures. On behalf of the scientific committee, we are looking forward to your par- ticipation to the Berlin International Shoulder Course (BISC).
