AWARD WINNER Daniel Blamont, Phoenix Rising Star D aniel Blamont has been head of investment strategy at Phoenix Group since 2012 and has established a reputation for making bold decisions. He has been a key leader in the restructuring of the investment team and has helped refocus its priorities, in particular through a significant shift away from fixed income assets to a developing a diverse range of illiquid assets. He has been instrumental in Phoenix’s foray into alternative credit, including infrastructure debt, equity release mortgages and commercial real estate debt. This boldness has made him an in-demand presenter at specialist conferences and market events as well as a leading contributor to industry and professional journals. Daniel has been at Phoenix since 2012. Prior to that he worked for more than nine years in investment banking, starting in fixed income research at Deutsche Bank in 2002, moving to insurance and pension structuring at Deutsche Bank in 2006.
