That is why the Ölmühle Solling consistently focuses on organic raw materials. MANUFACTURED In the Ölmühle Solling, the traditional craft of oil milling can be found. The oils are gently pressed with small spindle presses. The bottling, labeling and shipping contains a lot of manual work. FRESH FROM THE MILL Not only the ingredients should be as fresh as possible. Also the oil should arrive quickly at the customer in its best condition. After all, the cold-pressed organic oils from the Ölmühle Solling are not "industrial goods" that can be stored for years. Therefore, only small batches are produced, bottled and shipped - simply fresh from the mill. d awarde HOLISTIC All oils are characterized by their varietal, balanced fra- In 2017, the Ölmühle Solling was awarded grance and taste. project Argan from Morocco The argan tree is full of character and today it only grows in south-western Morocco within an area covering 820,000 hectares. In 1998 this area was declared a biosphere reserve. The argan nut delivers a golden yellow, intensive nutty and tangy oil which is ideally suited as a high qua- lity vegetable oil and also as a highly valuable ingredient for natural cosmetics. It is rightly named “liquid gold of Morocco”. Incidentally, in Morocco the collecting and pro- cessing of argan nuts is traditionally carried out by women! Preserving the traditional methods of cultivation and ex- tracting the oil is close to our hearts at Ölmühle Solling. This is the reason why our high quality virgin organic Ar- gan Oil originates from a small manufactory near Agadir, which works together with women’s cooperatives in Essa- ouira and Ait Baamrame/Sidi Infi. This provides jobs in the area which are urgently needed. They only grow here: An argan tree in southwestern Morocco Top: The nuts are collected once they have fallen from the tree. project Coconuts from Sri Lanka As Gudrun and Werner Baensch themselves participated in ag- ricultural development projects, the support of organic cultiva- tion and fair trade are of particular importance to them. For this reason Ölmühle Solling has been a supporter of a Natur- land Fair certified project in Sri Lanka for many years now. The cultivation and the processing of coconuts are an impor- tant factor for the local agriculture. If coconut plantations are cultivated organically, this provides the best prerequisites for sustainable development. If coconut plantations are organically run and offer fair condi- tions, they provide the best pre-requistites for sustainable deve- lopment. For this reason, Ölmühle Solling has been supporting an ecological partner project "Serendipol" there since 2004. Around 1,300 farmers have joined forces and are farming a total of approximately 8,200 hectares of organic coconut plantations, others are currently being converted. project Rapeseed from the Weserbergland Whoever has cycled through the Weserbergland in Lo- wer Saxony near our manufactory in Boffzen at the end of April or the beginning of May will have seen the nu- merous yellow fields of rape blossom. But rapeseed is not all the same: For our high quality, cold pressed vegetable oil we naturally only use rape which has been organically cultivated and which happily is cultivated by numerous farmers in our region. We can therefore be sure that our rapeseed has been treated with neither slurry nor sludge nor doped with artificial ferti- lizers; it has not been abused with pesticides and no ge- netic modification is involved. For this reason we sign contracts year after year with certified organic farmers (Bioland and Naturland) in this area and happily pay fair prices – so that we can continue to produce cold pressed, virgin organic rapeseed oil in our oil manufac- tory for you.
