D TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9: CARRIACOU, GRENADA Following a morning at sea and lunch on board, arrive in charming Carriacou. Discover Arawak and Carib artifacts as well as the extensive colonial collections in the Carriacou Museum, housed in a historic building that was once a cotton ginnery, or enjoy the powdery sand of the island’s beaches. B,L,D WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10: DAY AT SEA Enjoy a day under sail as Sea Cloud takes full advantage of the trade winds. Attend lectures and watch the crew practice the art of setting the sails by hand. B,L,D THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 11: CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS This afternoon, call at the island of Nevis, birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. Visit his childhood home, which now hosts a history museum with an exhibit devoted to Hamilton’s life, before exploring the island’s spectacular botanical garden. The five-acre property contains orchid terraces, various tropical plants, and a rainforest conservancy. The ship will dock overnight in the quaint village of Charlestown. EUSTATIUS On St. Kitts, the first permanent English settlement in the Caribbean and the home of Alexander Hamilton’s mother for many years, visit imposing Brimstone Hill. Experience the island’s French savoir faire as we stroll past stylish cafés and boutiques. Swimmers will have an opportunity to visit one of many beautiful beaches. Return to the ship in time for lunch. Onboard festivities this evening feature a tasting of fine rums from island distilleries. B,L,D SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 14: ÎLES DES SAINTES, GUADELOUPE An archipelago of eight tiny volcanic islands, the Îles des Saintes is the site of the 1782 Battle of the Saintes between the British Royal Navy and the French fleet. Tour the colonial- style capital, Terre-de-Haut, or visit 17th-century Fort Napoléon, with its commanding views and exotic gardens. Or perhaps enjoy a swim at one of the white-sand beaches before returning to Sea Cloud. B,L,D MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15: SOUFRIÈRE, ST. LUCIA Anchor this morning in the Bay of Soufrière, tucked between the dramatic Anse des Pitons. Step ashore to tour the lush Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens. In the early afternoon, Sea Cloud sets sail for Barbados. The captain’s farewell dinner is tonight.
