APRIL 2021 SWEATSHOP NEWS SWEATSHOP'S 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION BEGINS WITH THE 80’S! 40 years! Four decades! For any small fitness business in America to survive and thrive for 40 years is amazing, but to come out the other side of the pandemic with a gorgeous group of clients and terrific team is miraculous. Our big celebration starts in April and will run through August. Stay tuned each month as we celebrate YOU, who made this possible and the managers, instructors and trainers who kept us going. Starting with the 80's in April, dig out your leg warmers and join us virtually on Throwback Wednesday, April 14th at 6pm with Jill Winegar – an original SweatShop staff member. Then we’ll move into the 90’s in May with step workouts and colorful new leggings. June will feature the 00's with outdoor workouts that include Kettlebells and Mat Pilates. In July we'll review the last 10 years with High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T) led by many of your favorite trainers. In August we celebrate the future and look to the next generation of leadership. Stay tuned via social media on Facebook and Instagram, and add to the SweatShop chalk wall downstairs with your name, when you joined, and what you remember as your first class. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you! PARTY IN THE PARK LIKE IT'S 1981 Join us for our 40 Years Outdoor Celebration, April 24, 9:30-11am! Come for all-level Pilates and Fitness workouts and stay for cake! RSVP for workouts and bring friends. Watch our Wednesday emails for details on trainers and formats. SMALL GROUP SUMMER! Small group training (SGT) sessions have been the way to train this past year, and we’ll keep growing customized, themed small groups. This month evaluate the best use of your group sessions and work with Daniele to figure out the best value for your workout dollars. During our anniversary we will be offering promos for SGT packages. If you are a Power or Plus GT member, watch for extra group sessions this month and use your 10% discount on any purchase of a training package.

Strength and Cardio Fitness Monday at 8am with Erin Reformer Flow, all levels welcome with music, Monday at 5pm with Annie Intermediate Reformer, Wednesday & Thursday at 5pm with Sachiko Spin and Core Friday 12:45pm with Lara VIRTUAL WORKOUTS ARE HERE TO STAY Is there anything easier than taking 5 steps from your desk to your Pilates mat to start your workout? Yes, getting off the sofa in your jammies! Many of you have had success sticking to, or increasing your workouts because of virtual options, and want to continue. But we also know a great Reformer group or high energy Power workout is always best in person, in-studio, in the company of others. We’re working on finding the right combo of daily virtual and in-studio offerings that can also be streamed live. Look for more information on these options in the coming weeks. GIVE A GUEST A 2-WEEK PASS Want more time with loved ones from far away or across town? Invite your guest to a drop-in class. When you do, they will get a two-week pass and you will get our thanks and 100 Perkville points for bringing them to class, then another 100 when they start their pass. Contact Guest Services to get a friend started. THROWBACK WEDNESDAY FITNESS CLASS - ONLINE AT 6PM ON 4/14! STRUGGLING WITH WEIGHT GAIN, BAD HABITS, OR DISCONNECT FROM LIFE IN THE PANDEMIC? WE’RE HERE TO HELP. The stress and collective trauma of a year in a pandemic have led many of us to coping strategies that had mixed consequences. Many of us struggled with stress or lost connection with our communities, and 42% of Americans have gained weight during the pandemic with the average gain hovering around 29 pounds. This struggle is real - and it’s good to know you’re not alone in it! If you identify with any of this, are ready to commit to reverse this trend, and could use a little help from your friends, we are forming a “Brigade” of like-minded SweatShop citizens with goals to change habits, drop pounds, up your game each day, and connect with each other. Beginning in April, you can make a monthly commitment to your customized goal and get support and accountability in a group or “Brigade” led by clients. Connect over common struggles, share tips and solutions, and have fun finding your way back to your new version of “normal”. The strategy is simple: Commitment to a goal and plan, and a group to rely on through Zoom check-ins and a Facebook private group. PRIVATE FITNESS AND PILATES TRAINING We deliver customized, private and semi-private (2+) training in Pilates, fitness, or a combo of the two. We'll meet you at your level and the location of your choice – online, in the studio, or outside. Work with trainers to set goals, track progress, and reset your goals after reaching them! SMALL GROUP TRAINING The SweatShop offers more than 20 small groups each week, from Reformer to Halo to Spin. Groups are online, at the studio and even outdoors! Don't see a group that fits your schedule? Build your own! MEMBERSHIPS Virtual, Basics, Power, and Plus GT memberships include a combo of virtual and outdoor classes, and virtual and in-studio small groups. RESILIENCE COACHING SweatShop Resilience Coaches meet with you (in person or virtually) in half-hour sessions to identify strategies and help you navigate your fitness/wellness journey, providing support and accountability along the way. Coaches can focus on fitness, mind-body, nutrition, or other areas of wellness. SOCIAL EVENTS AND CONNECTION Each month we host social events such as virtual happy hours, open houses, community dinners, wellness talks, and fundraisers. Keep connected, explore new interests and meet new people!
