It’s “Tech for Safety Summit”, hosted in Westminster, was nothing but a sham, and Londoners won’t be fooled by this transparent ploy. In the spirit of open-mindedness, I asked if I could attend to hear what they had to say but was told it was full up – despite there then being empty seats at the event! Clearly, Uber is not interested in having a proper discussion about safety. Instead, LTDA members turned out in force outside the event to tell Uber and attendees what they thought of their safety record. There’s a reason we bang on about it and given how Uber has failed at every turn to reform how it operates, it’s worth reminding everyone why they were refused a licence. Insurance failings include allowing drivers to operate without checking the start dates of policies, or with forged, tampered with and fake policies. Allowing drivers and vehicles to operate with fraudulent or faked driver and vehicle PH licences.
