Announcements The November member statements went out today and there have been some questions about the food and beverage requirement. Your statement shows that your outstanding minimum balance is due on 12/31/20 when in fact the deadline for all food and beverage minimum spending requirements has been extended to 12/31/2021. We’ve added a new weapon to our COVID-19 sanitation and safety protocols toolbox this week. We are now fogging public indoor areas daily with odor free M.I.S.T.™, a disinfecting solution paired with the M.I.S.T.™ fogger that is 100x more powerful than ordinary disinfectants. This application is for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. It also kills 30 other bacteria and viruses including those causing Norovirus, MRSA, Staph, E. Coli, Salmonella, & Hepatitis A, B & C. See the video demonstration here. Upcoming Elections The Recreation District Board of Supervisors Election is fast approaching on Tuesday, December 8th! COVID-19 Update We continue to monitor the escalating number of COVID-19 infections, hospitalizations and the devastating loss of life. The policies and procedures previously communicated have proven to be difficult to enforce and punitive in some cases. These polices are intended to provide a best practices framework for members, guests and staff and may in some cases not be applicable. If you have any questions regarding these guidelines and how they apply to you and your unique circumstances, please contact Laurie Evans, General Manager at levans@universitypark-fl.com. The CDC has recently changed their guidelines regarding quarantine after exposure to a COVID-19 positive individual and those recommendations are reflected in our policies.
If you have been exposed to an individual that has tested positive for COVID-19 you must get a PCR test 3 days after the exposure and have received a negative test result before returning to the Club. Should you choose not to get tested, you must quarantine for 7 days and have no symptoms before returning to the Club. All members and their guests travelling from out of state or out of the country must quarantine for 7 days in the absence of a negative PCR test taken 3 days after arrival prior to visiting the Club and using the indoor facilities. Members and their guests may play golf in private or Club carts after having received a negative PCR test prior to the end of the 7 day quarantine when possible after travelling from out of state and/or after a COVID-19 exposure. The State testing site on Cattleman Road and the Robert J. Taylor Community Center on 301 offer both rapid and PCR testing. Both sites are open 7 days per week from 9 am to 5 pm. Given the unreliable results we are seeing with the rapid testing, we are requiring PCR test results for staff and members at this time. CVS, on University Parkway also has drive-thru PCR testing. Pre-registration is required. Click here for more information. As previously communicated, the PBM Management team will be taking on the important role to notify members who have been exposed to COVID-19 to avoid the potential risk that a member who was exposed is not notified. We ask that you notify Laurie Evans, General Manager, directly if you test positive for COVID-19 and Club management will notify members who have been potentially exposed. Residents and members have been asking about having COVID-19 vaccinations at the Club similar to the flu shot events. We have contacted our vendor and they have us on a list of customers who have requested this service when they are able to obtain the vaccine. We will keep you posted. Please review the following COVID-19 protocols when visiting the club facilities. • Masks must be worn at all times when inside any of the Club buildings including the Golf and Tennis Pro Shops, Fitness Centre and Administrative offices. • Please wash your hands frequently and maintain social distancing whenever possible. • When dining at The Park Grille masks must be worn at all times when traversing the dining room to your table or the restrooms and when stopping at tables to talk to other members. We also ask that you keep your mask up unless actively eating or drinking and when a service staff member approaches your table. • When dining outdoors on The Café, please keep your mask on until you are seated at a table and when entering the dining room to use the restrooms. • Masks should be worn at any time that social distancing is not possible including when using the practice areas at the golf course, the putting green, chipping area and driving range. • Reservations are required for visiting the Fitness Centre to maintain safe occupancy levels. • The NO GUEST policy at Tennis is still in effect including visiting family members. Members are encouraged to ride solo in golf carts and to use their personal carts whenever possible.

Tennis Jason and Joe have been working hard to find ways to adapt to these challenging COVID-19 conditions. Members have found a comfort zone on the tennis courts that allows them to exercise and enjoy the game they love. We have transitioned from inter-club and team matches to mixing it up with member play and events that sparked some new friendships and different opponents. We look forward to more exciting new events in the coming weeks. Open Pickleball play continues on Mondays at 11:00 am. Members interested in playing pickleball on clay tennis courts are invited to come out and play. Racquets and balls are available and proper tennis attire and shoes are required. Courts will be assigned the day of play in the tennis pro shop and no reservations are required. You must be a Sports, Tennis or Full member or a respective Trial member to participate. Open Tennis Clinics are back focusing on stroke production, strategy and tactics. Sign-up sheets are posted in the tennis pro shop. See more info. The round-robin play restriction has been lifted for MEMBERS ONLY play and new balls are no longer required for all matches. Please use good judgement. The NO GUEST PLAY policy remains in effect. When playing tennis, please maintain social distance as much as possible when on the courts and when gathering post-game in the shade. The use of the water fountains is still discouraged and we ask that you plan to bring adequate water.
