a p te r1 me ! h Ti C Sto r y A family of ants worked in the sunshine. They had collected grain all summer. Now they were packing it up and storing it. Winter was coming soon. I’m be o totally n th e se going to this afoo w d Whe i n ter. diet nIs I’ll e ee food at it , ! 4 5
He Don y, dude Sha ’t be r s! While the ants worked, a re y u our des. food grasshopper bounced over. He spit s. on the ground, like grasshoppers do. But the ants ignored him. He patted his belly to show how empty it was. But the ants didn’t pay him any attention. So the grasshopper pulled out his guitar. He sang a little song. (And just so you know, he wasn’t very good.) 6 7
How many grasshoppers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? The ants could NOT believe what he was asking. “Haven’t you stored food away for the winter?” asked one ant. The grasshopper laughed. “I don’t do those kind of antics.” No one knows. They’ve never done it. 8 9
